    Default Resources?

Has any figured out what resources are useful for besides trading? The description for wood "Good timber makes a strong ship" seems to make me believe that they might be useful for advanced buildings. The problem is that the game doesn't tell me. In Shogun 2 we had short and concise descriptions that told us exactly what it was used for. The descriptions here are just vague with no meaning ie. "Iron is only as strong as the hand that forges it before battle" WTF is that supposed to mean? Does it help weapons?armour?both? what buildings are affected if any?

So, has any figured them out yet?

You need timber to build one of top tier temples as Suebi.

    Don't preorder games!

Yeah some higher tier buildings require certain resources. The region with the resources in also effects the settlements, such as barbarian (grain) gives 40% income from agricultural so you want to build all your agricultural buildings in (Grain) settlements.

Glass provides research rate, Wine provides bonus experience to units recruited, leather reduces cost of light units etc

Check out the minor settlements list in the wiki and mouse other all of the settlements to see all of the effects.

Thanks it just annoying to have to constantly go to the encyclopaedia to figure this stuff out, rather then just put it in the description.
