Maybe I am missing something, but what was the point of the Hannibal and Cleopatra trailers if there aren't any historical scenarios or specifically skinned people in the campaigns? I'm not 100% sure, but in any of my campaigns I have not seen anyone look like Marc Antony, Hannibal, or Cleopatra from those trailers. And if they have popped up, they are just rehashed like all the other generals, those trailers just seem extremely misleading to me. Maybe I am in the minority. I never expected scripted campaigns or anything because that's not what TW is about.

They wanted people associate these personalities with the game Rome 2 in order to sell. However they have also said there would be DLC short campaigns at a later point.

just get attention and make the franchise name the most possibly widespread. trailers most of the time isn't about show real gameplay but yes something "related" to the game. this "actual gameplay" have been BS for more then a decade in allmost all games (theres exceptions but just a few). but i keep seeing so often people being naive about thinking what we see in trailers is what we what we will get as final build.... NEVER EXPECT TO HAVE THE SAME!!! this helps to avoid disapointments and future rage

If they had shown actual gameplay there would probably have been a lot less pre-orders.

So it`s lies and continuing lies for the sake of Capitalism marketing?

No one sees that this can`t possibly go on and be beneficial to society?

Oh, wait, I`m being intellectual and ethical, that`s a no, no here. Right?

maybe there was sth planned? if you look at the game, there re many hints that there was more planned than we have in the game now. the encyclopedia promises things which arent in the game, the politics tab feels ridiculously unfinished and in the files peoples found code like guard mode, which isnt in the game either

Whats the point of the real-life trailers, or any trailers whatsoever ---> hype
Getting people hyped by not actually showing anything its something thats been happening since the invention of TV, in different forms even before that, it has nothing to do with capitalism, communism, feudalism, the zeitgeist movement etc. (Humble )
People advertise how they advertise and trailers are usually the least representative of the final product, although CAs alpha gameplay footage was arguably more since they said the final product would look better.

Rome 2's trailers rival the Dead Island trailers in false marketing. Most people were disappointed with that game came out too, when it had nothing to do with the trailer they had seen
