    Default Auxiliary Roman Archers

    This mod lets roman players recruit Auxiliary Roman Archers in any region with the required military building.These archers are also available in custom battles.

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 


    Open for discussion:
    required building - right now it needs field of mars or any auxiliary upgrade
    unit stats - ammo, damage etc.
    unit cost and upkeep

    ToDo:
    Test if it works and uses the correct units and animations in all kinds of battles.

    Technical:
    This adds a new unit using 69000-69003 in building_units_allowed.

    Install:
    unzip, drop .pack file into data directory, open with mod manager

    Cannot believe you even posted that ridiculousness...hello, there wasn't really any black on white or white on black racism/slavery in antiquity, you were either a slave or you weren't...the North coast of Africa was mostly African as the Muslim hordes did not exist, Carthaginians were Phoenicians originally but they had no problems mixing with the African population...people mingled more than now as 'white supremacy' wasn't even a concept then...most Romans were dark olive skinned and brown-eyed as were most Greeks.     Tried it, activated with Mod manger II. With current save nope...with new game ...nope. Even played new game until I had an auxillary barracks level II to be sure. I dropped your pack into data folder and activated via MM2. Suggestions?

    I suggest to make their skins from Numidian to Greek ...rename them as Thracian auxilary bowmen and place their recruitment province all over the Greece ..Macedonia and Thracia
    To have avaible archers all over the place is simply unhistorical and kinda easy mod for players ...thats my suggestion on this mod

    Its not unhistorical Roman used to draft archers from local population since they don't need any special training or equipment and it reduce the logistic a lot. You had the same number of auxilia (cav and archers) and legionnaires. That said they shouldn't be black tho most auxilia were Thracian, Greeks or from some barbarian nation. You should use the Cretan archer model and modify their equipment.

    No idea, just drop the pack file in the data folder and start the game via mod manager. Unless it conflicts with something else, which is unlikely for the unit tables since I minimized these tables, but still possible for the locale_en.pack. Somehow PFM didn't minimize that and I'm still waiting for an answer from Daniu.

    Yes that was the intention. I liked having archers available from the start in Roma Surrectum. I play games for fun and not for being 100% historically correct.

    Yes that's possible. I just used the model of the african archers. So now that it works I can play around and change their looks.

    Works great! Activated it with Mod Manager and there they were in my saved campaign. They show in custom battles as well. +rep to you sir!!

    I think 8-9 shots per minute is to perfer to compete with other archers in game.
