Icon5 What does "(this action)" mean?

Hi all, I've searched the internets but I haven't found the answer to this: When an agent for example gains a rank, among the bonuses for each skill that I can choose, some say (this action). I cannot figure out what this means?
Can anyone explain this to me?

It means the bonus applies to the action specified. Like if it says "Manipulation: Persuade -> +10% chance for critical success. (this action)" That means only the manipulation option "persuade" would have 10% extra chance for critical success, not every action the agent makes.

On a related note, I have a champion who has the trait "Adventurous" which means he increases wealth by 5% when adventuring. How do I have him adventure?

The German tooltip actually says that trait makes the Champion earn money by travveling; the farther he is from his home province, the more he earns (though it does not state if "home province" is your capital or the province he was recruited at).

Sometimes the specification is really, really vague. Like for Dignitaries "+x to cultural conversion (this action)." means that it works on the passive "action" dignitaries do whenever they're in a province, mainly increasing influence for their own culture.

Makes sense. I just hope they enrich the in-game help to cover all these obscure things.

just send him in distant lands, far away from your capital and hope it has any effect.

seriously, it s only one of the many new things which are badly explained in the game while all the most basic things which are known for ages and to everyone are explained in detail
