"Wait it's pre-alpha" or the necessity to be vigilant guards
During months, each time someone saw a default in the game, in the pics or videos we saw and make critiscm and even constructive critiscm there was always someone to say: Wait it's pre-alpha. The experience of the previous total war titles proove that, indeed, something bad that is at the beginning of the work of a game can stay until the release, and after, it's often too late.
However, CA is listenning us better since 2 or 3 years. I would say since Craig arrived in the team. The bad animations with the flying men with the chariots for example have disapeared because the community made a lost of posts on it.
But, Rome 2, we know it, still have many bugs and defaults at his release. I am sure it will be a very good game but many patches are needed...The worst thing and perhaps the most uncomprehensive thing is the performance problem, the fact that CA has not verified that the game can run on most of the computers. Even people with very very good pc have massive lags...
So let's continue with constructive critiscm and let's abandon insults, hating or on the other hand excessive optimism.
I think in the future, before a release, CA will have to make a real beta to have less problems on day one and after. Optimization of their game has to be a goal for them in the future. We can hardly play with 8000 men on the battlefield (yes I know, a few can, but a few), which is paradoxal, because, we would have expected that in the future we could have massive armies. In medieval, NTW or ETW, Shogun2, we could play with 20000 or 30000 men...This would be ridiculous if in the future,we have always more graphics features but less and less men on the battlefield. Beware also on the ridiculous animations: men flying in the air, exploding ships etc. AI, of course has to be more challenging too.
Even with a hundred persons team, making such a game is difficult so nothing can be perfect at the beginning but some errors could have been saved, if CA would have listened more to some of our worries or if some bad choices or arcade choice would have not been taken.
So long life to CA and, we, we have to be the vigilant guards of contents and features of TW titles.

Day 1 patch will solve everything, even global warming.

It's like Empire, it's still in beta stage, CA would have needed at least half a year to finish it for release.
It's not just about listening to our worries, it's about time left. People found lots of data in the files that indicate game features that didn't make it into the game.
