    Hi, i'm from Russia, so i can find only local_ru.pack and local_ru_rome2.pack in data folder. But i can't find land_units.loc and other important files. Can you help me?

    And it can't really be dealt with because there may be a lot of members using these signatures. If i remember correctly i know some guy opened a thread in the rome 2 section and made these sig types and pretty sure he's the one that hosted them on the problematic niloblog.com. We need to find him and tell him to kill these links and reupload them on photobucket or imageshack, which are reliable image hosting websites.

    From the local_en.pack you will need some text\db files, namely:
    land_units.loc --> all land units are listed here. If a unit is not here it won't be in the game.
    naval_units.loc --> guess what?? same for naval units
    unit_description_short_texts.loc --> a mini customized description of the unit. If you make one you will need to add the unit_description_short_texts db table and add its entry there.
    unit_description_historical_texts.loc --> a more detailed description of a unit or a class of units. If you make one you will need to add the unit_description_historical_texts db table and add its entry there.
    Hi there
    I use a localized version of the game (Fr) and I dont have a local_en.pack file. I have a local_fr.pack file, but not such files in it.
    Where are my files?

    I'm sorry,my game is localize in ITA.In folder local_it pack I do not find text\db files.Help me please...

    with me, the file land_units doesnt open, it is red when i add it to the file, and when i try to open it, its empty, i guess it has something to do with the schema's, but i dont know how to get the latest schema's, so if anyone could help me with that.

    also, i cant find the vile main_land_units, only main_units, is this the same file?

    Cant add custom unit card for custom unit, some table must be missing cause in unit_variants if i put to last collum name of my custom card it always crashes the game, if i put there name of vanilla card its ok, seems like custom cards must be also somewhere else so game counts with them. Any help?

    The truth is I have not messed a lot with unit cards, but I do not believe another table is needed, I have found nothing that mentions them other than variant_units. What I have noticed is that in your mod under UI\units\icons etc, you will need to add a prefix to your cards and masks or the game will most likely crush either at launch or when you enter custom battle.

    I can't make it work. Can you please check the attached file? I've cloned Gre_Hoplites and assigned them to Sparta. I've tried several generals in land tables so perhaps the current is not correct.

    Edit: it is a movie type pack so you do not need to edit script (I've tried as mod type also with no lack).

    blackheartz: But prefix placed right front of the card name wont do anything cause then i had to put exact same name into unit_variants in card collum and that will cause that ugly crush. My units work, all perfect, but adding to them new custom cards no luck sofar.

    husselTW: I'll upload the pack I made for this tutorial in the first post.

    Radius: I will make some tests with unit cards and get back to you. As I told you I have not worked on them.


    Edit: I also checked your pack husselTW and you have not added the text\db\land_units.loc at all in it. Do not forget to add your prefix to it too. Also in buildings_units_allowed you will need to change the keys to unique numbers. From a quick look that seems to be all.

    Its fully working small unit pack, custom cards already there, everything, but moment i put card names into unit_variants table to the unit card collum game crashes in custom battle screen once i choose Arveni/Iceni (units for them)

    blackheartz thanks for checking. However text tables are not necessary for pack to work (but they do for a released mod). I checked with Radious pack where I deleted all the text, variant files and those of the db that are not basic (like exp modifider, etc.).

    I changed the buildings id's with no luck as well. Though it seems that we have to change them (as I can see in Radious pack), I just note that these id's connect the buildings with the settlement (city) they can be constructed and they are present in the related table (campaign_settlement_display_building_constructions). But if the pack works in campaign (I've checked only custom battles) and both player and AI can recruit them then there is no point to discuss it further.

    Radious thanks for the file, it works so now I can compare and see my error.

    I have tried again and again and the game will not accept the new unit cards. I also tried giving new unit cards to already existing units. Still no luck. I will keep testing and see where this will go.

    The pack works in the campaign for the player 100%, I have not checked for the AI. The thing is that in my tests I have not been able to get the pack to work with non-changed id's.

    blackheartz. Definitely there is some card issue, i tried export vanilla card to my mod and then put into my pack and then put name of that card to my new custom unit - exact same crash even with totaly vanilla card. Something fishy is here, its lamost like game cannot read card from aynwhere els except own data packs......very weird, please try to look on it further, right now its not possible to have new card for enw unit......

    husserlTW: Certainly look at it, i would like to help, but i had to go through so many files beofre i made it work (50 crashes about) then i can suggest only check table by table, colum by colum.

    ok. I managed to make it work but only after I used a unit of the same faction. In my successful test I cloned a Spartan hoplites unit. In my first failed (and still fails) I cloned the generic greek hoplites and assigned to Sparta that belong to most greek factions but not to Sparta.

    EDIT: I solved it indirectly by assigning in my good pack the variant for the generic hoplites. So now my unit uses different unit model.

    husserlTW: Great, good you solved it. Any idea why movie packs wont work with custom units? When my mod is in movie i see no custom units in game, once i switch to mod i see everything.

    Any progress on those cards issues?

    Radious: I've noticed that but I have no clue why is this happening. I tried several ways with no luck. Game seems to ignore it (even when there are errors). I'll work a little on this unit card problem.

    So to clone a row, I click on the left side to where the black arrow points down the row, and then click clone row correct? When I do that I don't see any changes, should a new row pop up somewhere? Because it looks like I'm just overwriting the old row. Also is the key the number on the left side or in the table under "unknown?" Thanks.
