    Default Huge Ai Empires

First time in this game I've ever seen such huge AI empires that aren't failing due to food shortage or uprisings. The two celtic tribes in Europe are military allies and are still expanding. Since the Reatia (however its spelled ) has decided to end our non agression pact it has been decided I will topple their empire. However before that I'd like a little civil war to happen haha, so any ideas/tips on how to trigger one?

    Probably because of the patch.

Whoa, looks great. Haven't seen this before. Are you using the latest patch on this campaign?

I'm using both the new patch and Radious' mods, also using 2tpy mod

When your reputation gets to about 70% it should start soon. You'll want to have lots of full stacks at your capital in preparation, else you'll find half your empire has been steamrolled by the enemy within!

I think with Monarchies its different, because I start out with about 70% reputation, mso maybe if I hit below 30% it will start? o.o

it's the imperium bar he's talking about. not power in the court.

oh haha, guess I'll just start my war then and hope civil war won't trigger somewhere in between.

No I wasn't; my Imperium was pretty low when my civil war started

If you count the Greek cities as one, then they are a decent empire. That faction in Persia/far east~ has got alot of provinces too.

I got my reputation down to 22% by constantly spreading rumours on the other generals, though after a few turns still no civil war. Maye lowering their importance makes it less likely to trigger civil war haha

    That's awesome!!!

But I still would like to see more traditional factions expanding, like Rome, the hellenic ones, Egypt, Carthage... but, still, a great improvement!

In my current run, Tylis had taken most of Greece and Asia Minor until my Romans reached those shores. Also, the Celtic Confederation in the north is quite expansive.

This is me as Sparta on Normal without the patch and NO mods. Parthia and Parthava are deploying large armies against me and they're full of horse archers, elite archers, and heavy cavalry it's crazy.

On a side note: Has anyone seen the Carthage AI succeed? Like at all? I've started 5 Campaigns and they've been toppled by the AI's down to Karalis every single time by North African tribes. Seems like they might have the Oda clan syndrome from Shogun 2 at launch, and I think the efforts of the devs to not make them OP made them way too weak (Nova Carthago an independent nation? Really?).

Well having Nova Carthago would make them too strong, If you can make serious money from all of those provinces. I think Egypt has an incredibly strong starting position that it has provinces with food developing regions, saving money on farms. Also try and imagine having to manage all of that territory all of those enemies. I wouldn't say they have Oda clan syndrome, the Oda clan had a historically crappy situation that managed to win out in a fluke, with Carthage your allies just suck.

Not a single time have I seen carthage been succesfull in about 5 campaigns, not with the patch and not without it. Also egypt has a tendency to get ed up in my campaigns aswell.
Carthage really needs to get its act together, aswell as most "important" factions like the averni who seem to die almost everytime aswell, and pontus has a tendency to die off on me aswell. Epirus just gets screwwed over by an athens sparta alliance in all my campaigns and rome does good at first until it gets overrun by some celtic tribe.
