hi guys,
how to change the allowed number of "royal spartans" and "heroes of sparta" in an army?

someone has ideas? would be nice

1.You will need to download packfile manager.
2.open packfile manager and navigate to your Total War Rome II DATA folder (for steam its "Steam/Steam Apps/Common/Total War Rome II/Data")
3.open the pack file <data_rome2.pack>
4.expand the file in packile manager.
5.expand the "DB" directory.
6.expand the entry "main_units_tables" left click "main_units", you should now see the data in the window on your right.
7.scroll down until you fine the unit your looking for, the very first entry after "unknown" is "campaign cap", change it to 0 for no cap or whatever you want.
8. Its advisable to back up your original data_rome2.pack before you save your edited version, just in case.

Everything Zaskar70 said, though I personally would learn how to extract the table into a new .pack file. Otherwise, you'll have to redownload the 250MB file every time a patch rolls around.

Hey, I am all new to modding RTW 2 (though I had some experience with modding RTW) and I was wondering about the same question dealing with the spartan unit cap. I just want to set those "campaign cap" values to 0, nothing more. Used the newest version of packfile manager. I can open everything and see the entrys, but I cant change them for they're some sort of grey an "unklickable" as seen on this image: http://imgur.com/Gh2EPKd (had trouble uploading it here directly, sry)

Can someone tell me how to solve this issue ? Can't figure it out by myself i guess...

Instead of directly editing the data pack, you want to make a small mod. That way the changes stay with each patch.
