    Default Units not obeying orders?

This is costing me some serious casualties in battles. The main culprits are cavalry. Essentially, once your units get into combat with a unit they are stuck in combat until one side routs. I cannot use my cavalry as an effective smashing force when they keep turning round to re-engage the enemy I am telling them to run from! I suspect this is due to the pesky Warscape engine.

They can run away with heavy casualty. Trust me, break them, or you die.

I've noticed a problem in naval battles where ships will not obey new orders given just after ramming.

Same with me. I've had ship battles where, instead of ramming when told to, the unit will just sail off into the farthest corner of the map and stay there until the battle ends.

Ugh, this has made my civil war a nightmare. Two armies come right along a thin wall at the edge of the map, with only one entrance. I blew up my own wall to charge melee troops into the middle and sent some from door to bog the main force down. Now at this point I wanted to try and sneak my cavalry around and take out there ranged troops but every time they decide to fight, no matter how hard I try to keep them from or stop them from doing afterwards.
