Rome also was supposed to get a lot more auxiliary types, including Scutarii, Painted Ones, Persian Hoplites, etc.

But seriosuly, it seems like ALOT of stuff never made it in even though it was supposedly supposed to be there. This is a trend I've noticed with alot of recent total war games.

True there are not one african elephant in the game, i noticed it in the carthage siege trailer where you could see indian elephants defending the city and everyone just keep insisting that they were african elephants cause CA said so

They are north african forest elephants which are exctinct today, They were smaller than both Indian and modern savannah african elephants.

Yes but it still had a concave back and large ears, like the other African species' but in game, they have a convex back and small ears, like the Indian elephants.

Possibly units that were cut from the final release to prevent Rome from having TOO many units. Or potentially units to be used with future DLC factions or such. It's not too unusual to see unused data floating around in games nowadays.

You can't blame CA for participating in what has become the video game norm for the past four years. On the release date we bought 75% of Rome II Total War, like any other game. Later we will be able to buy pieces to the rest of the puzzle for a nominal price and have the full game. Until consumers stop making this model viable, we get to puzzle our games together one piece at a time.

I can't even call them out for selling the game in pieces because frankly, the piece we got now isn't even polished enough to warrant a release lol

So odds are, they are really working on those extra contents post release XD

No, the Roman Auxiliary and Merc pool was supposed to be much bigger, including units such as Oathsworn, Noble Horse, Thracian Warriors, ARMORED Sarmatian Lancers, etc.

3. Elephants: There will be a "visual differentiation" between elephants from India and elephants from Africa. Stats-wise, I am still waiting on further clarification from Al whether the two units are similar or different.

Confirmed by Al at the San Francisco Event in July. Yet still all Indian to those who keep PMing me saying otherwise !
