Default Bug - Chasing Down Routing Units

There's a serious issue when trying to chase down shattered units.

I had been chasing this unit for about 2 minutes before I decided to alt-tab and take a video so it's more about 7 minutes of chasing a single infantry unit. As you can see I only kill 13 of the 151 in 7 minutes of trying to chase down a routing infantry unit. It was somewhat like this in Shogun 2 where the unit would split in two directions and the chasing unit would switch between each different section of that unit. However, here, it's a complete unit that hasn't been separated and it's incredibly worse, much worse than Shogun 2. There's really no point in continuing a battle to try and cause more casualties for the enemy army as they are routing. I'm sure it's a bug, hopefully awareness gets it fixed.

Pretty much the only reliable ways to kill runners are with missiles.

    Preferably, missile cavalry.

By the way, have you tried chasing them with War Dogs?

I had an even more fun event tonight when the 3 armies I attacked at poor odds routed before 4 of the enemy boats could unload. I decided to continue the battle just to prevent them from routing but the 4 boats never unloaded, I couldn't attack them or affect in any way. I decided to withdraw my armies from the field which worked, until one SOLO principe walked back onto the field, no flag or I couldn't control him at all. I ended up quitting the battle which gives you a discouraging "you will lose all unsaved blah blah".

Anyway, resulted in my victory after all but wasted some time trying to figure out what's what..

Use wardogs! That after all was their real role.
Proculus: Divine Caesar, PLEASE! What have I done? Why am I here?
    Caligula: Treason!
Proculus: Treason? I have always been loyal to you!
Caligula: [laughs insanely] That IS your treason! You're an honest man, Proculus, which means a bad Roman! Therefore, you are a traitor! Logical, hmm? Ha, ha, ha!

It wouldnt be so infuriating if routers didn't take so many strikes to go down. It's almost like they get health buffs when they are fleeing for their lives.

Honestly this has always been a problem. I remember it vividly in Medieval II and Empire; but present in all TW games in some way, very annoying.

I never had this problem in RTW or M2TW, but in Rome 2 it's ridiculous. I routed this 60 general's body guard units and was attacking them with 2 equites, 1 generals bodyguard, and 1 unit of legionaries across the entire map, killed only 15 before they crossed the red withdrawal barrier

Chasing down units has always been a wonky thing in TW. In Med 2, it usually went ok, but wasn't a sure thing. Your cavalry unit could sometimes end up running alongside the routing unit peacfully. Same with Empire(worse?), and Shogun 2. But in Rome 2, it just doesnt make sense anymore how chasing routing units with cavalry is an exercise in futility, in my personal experience of course.

This. I noticed this many times, and now I don't even bother.
