DLC vs Expansion

Do you think there is a reasonable expansion for Rome II or will CA just continue to extend it with DLC and how far do you think DLC can extend this game. I suspect (and fear) that most game marketers these days salivate at the thought of emulating The Sims 3 ability to sell add-on after add-on.

When the game is actually good and polished, I prefer DLCs, since it's more diverse and I can tailor my game to fit my taste. Small campaigns like Peninsulla DLC of NTW or Rise of the Samurai are suprisingly enjoyable giving their relatively low price.

When the game is bugged (like this one at current state), I prefer expansion. Developers should be given more time to get it right.

why not an expansion, there was FoTS not very long ago.. same deal i think, dlcs with small extra stuff and expansion in a year or so.
