Animations......where are they?
So this question goes to those of you who can at least play the game at an acceptable framerate. I can play on Ultra at a stable framerate, the campaign map looks and plays great, but the battles drop the ball (in many ways). The framerates are bad so I turn the unit size down. I've spent all afternoon in custom battles trying to get a battle where I can really SEE the units fighting each other. They seriously just mill about bumping into each other with the occasional jerky looking stab or thrust attempt that looks even less convincing than the original Rome Total War. The battlefields look so nice too, its just sad. So im asking, has anyone been able to really see the new animations that are supposed to be there? Video proof would ease my soul. The fighting just looked so awesome in Shogun2........I just dont understand what has happened to my beloved game. I dont say this like Im entitled either. I was prepared for bugs, I've been here for 10 years, I know that I have to rely on mods to make it what it truly should be. I dont remember Rome 1 with rose tinted glasses, it had terrible problems of a similar nature on release maybe even worse. But really.........this.........just makes me sad.......I want a refund of half my money or something. Im still having some fun with the game, but its the kind of fun I have with all my other strategy games that I stop playing in a week or two.....not the kind of fun I have with a TOTAL WAR game. Only other strat games that keep me enthralled are some Homeworld 2 mods. Also Dark Souls but dont get me started on that.
