Default Why do unique cities' geography change after upgrading?!

I noticed that Rome ii has given special "attention" to the unique cities of those times: like Rome, Carthage, Alexandria and athens for example. This is really nice, but there is one problem. If I for example take a barbaric settlement, I can convert the buildings to roman ones. This results in a change of the settlement to a roman style city. This makes sense, but.The same happens when you take for example Carthage. I look Carthage and converted the buildings to be able to furthert upgrade them. Then carthage was under attack and I realised ...Carthage was gone...I saw a flat city, with no mountain at all.. WHOLE CARTHAGE WAS GONE. I understand that upgrading the buildings should change the settlements in Carthage. BUT NOT THE WHOLE MAP. Eaven the mountain was gone and the huge harbour!I saw egypte has fallen on my campaign, so I fear that I will never see alexandria on this campaign. Since that is also gone because the AI converts egypts settlement aswell.I hope CA fixes this, since it makes no sense that a whole huge city is just totaly changed. Please give you feedback guys, this should be easy to fix for CA!

    I have to agree here.

Why change the entire layout of a city (say: Carthage, which has a large harbor and is situated on a hill) when you upgrade the City center? When upgrading the city to a larger size, the city loses its original "looks" and turns into a generic city of the culture with the same layout and building placement!
The city in the battle map while defending/attacking will look like any other city in the game. This removes the aesthetic values of locations, especially for the well-known cities such as Rome, Carthage, Alexandria, Athens, whose layout and geographical features we are well aware of.

Come on, we know that this has been going on in the Total War games for a long time, but this is ROME II, isn't this supposed to be the game that will be different from the others?

It isn't fun seeing a unique city lose its hills and rivers just because faction X converted it to their culture and magically removed the geographical features to turn it into generic culture city no. 2146.

I doubt they`ll add this to the game, although I agreed with the OP 100%. Let`s hope that with the mod tools, we can make maps that change that, but again we have to trust the modders.
