    Default Exhibition on 3rd Cent. Battle (Romans - Germanice tribes)

    Hi guys,

    just a piece of info for all who love Roman army stuff:

    There is a temporary exhibition in Braunschweig, Germany, till 19 January, in the Braunschweigischen Landesmuseum (Burgplatz 1, 38100 Braunschweig).

    Some years ago, archaeologists found a site of a 3rd Cent. AD battle in the Harz mountains - several hundreds of kms from the Rhine, which was then the border between the Roman Empire and Germania Magna (the free Germania). That was a big surprise because noone expected the Romans to have gone so deeply into Germania anymore at that time. Focus of the exhibition are Roman army equipment.

    I haven't been there, but will definitely go.

    Cheers,

    Awesome find, be sure to take plenty of pictures.
    In the garb of old Gaul, with the fire of old Rome,
    From the heath-covered mountains of Scotia we come;
    Our loud-sounding pipe breathes the true martial strain,
    And our hearts still the old Scottish valour retain.
