Did you report in to the support forums? If not make sure you do while they are working hard on the patches. This is a pretty unique situation that would take some serious play time to reproduce.

I think that should be right. I mean if you capture a town you would not demolish everything, but i think for game play reasons you need to transform the roman buildings into your fation ones. Makes sense in a way. I mean if you capture Rome , would you destroy the whole city? Obviously now but you will need your own administration.

It depends on what those buildings are on the campaign map, surely.

It's possible to take a settlement and not convert the buildings. What do you think they will look like witohut being converted?

The OP states 'they changed it all' - I presume that they did do this conversion. A screen of the settlement on the canpaign map would help make sense of this.

Did you actually convert the buildings to your own culture? Capturing a city doesn't magically turn the buildings to your culture. You have to actually spend money to do that, and time. Until then, the buildings will look how they did before. Makes sense.

Well you see it as historically accurate. When Rome fell, basically everything Roman was kept. Especially buildings. Just because all Roman things were so much ahead of aything barbarians could ever create. Too bad this argument isn't consistent apparently, since you say that the city is shown as a barbarian village on the campaign map. Really, they should just remove the graphical conversion and leave it Roman. Problem solved.

Works the other way too though. My cultured Romans have held a town for over a century (don't recall the name. At work). You think they'd still be living in mud huts? According to the battle map they do! Shows correctly on the campaign map though.

Mah, maybe a sort of hybred roman-barbaric city on the campaign and battle map could even be a good idea.

If that city is Roma then it's probably because Roma is one of the specially designed cities.

uhmm...it seems a CA choice and not a bug. Ok you've converted cities but as suggested by Julio Rome is one of the few "particular" cities reproduced in the game. Rome should not completely change to mantain what this city represent. To be fair the game should manage an evolution of the city between hybridism and timeline..Rome should remain the same but looking as during the barbaric era. There should be a sort of "dynamic realtime evolution" of cities that the engine is not able to manage. Otherwise it should be possible (and this is not an utopia) mantain the main buildings of the city and at the same time give the ability to change minor ones closest to the people's everyday life: stables, blacksmith, agriculture...a mixture to reproduce the hybridism and the influence historically felt by barbarians absorbing part of the Roman "Culture". We should see if this happen also with other cities which are not parte of the "7th ones" CA hard-detailed recreate in the game. Anyway who knows, maybe in a future expansion regarding barbaric invasion we should find a "post imperial" Rome..it would be great!...anyway you remind me BRENNO!

The city of Rome should be looking like a barbaric mud hut if the player was a germanic tribe and coverted it.. this isn't about realism, this about creating your own history.
