    Default game UI changes

the changes I want for campaign ui are these: diplomacy screen keeping the current map style but show the info when you mouse over the face icon of any faction you click on, on the map. right above the faction window that shows up to the right side would be perfect.

ca can combine alot of the tabs. province management UI, combine 1 + 2 hotkey panels. the buildings tab + show the food, public order, culture infos without the damn mouse over. you can also easily combine generals and agent recruitment tabs, why the hell not? less hotkeys the better imo, streamline the hell out of it. I am 100% sure you can fit all 6 panes of the research panel onto a single screen. military on the left and economies on the right, keep the red n blue colors if you want. do it! plz! economy should be just 1 page not 3 freaking panels where I have to scroll for everything.

shogun 2's list of agents, armies, provinces, etc, is sooo much better. why the stupid change? S2's info panels on the right side of the screen was close to perfection. small and informative, showing as much as possible. there really should be just the list of current events, instead of the pop ups. it should be limited to only super important events.

general skills and army traits should be on the same page, that is a huge must. hell u can even add the army supporting agent skill panel onto that page. general skills on top, army in the middle, agents at the bottom, easy peasy.

unit recruitment pop up window, why the hell is the box so small and unit cards so gigantic? why not make it extend like shogun 2 style? I thought that was brilliant. I guess this applies to the mercs window also.

that is all I can think of right now for the campaign ui, anyone care or agree, feel free to add whatever you think is good.

battle ui. make the unit cards 50% smaller, hell shogun 2 sizes was just about perfect. add back the unit men remaining numbers onto the cards without the damn mouse over. ca will make alot of players happy with just this small change. I hope CA didn't make this change because some morons used to complain about replenishing speed. that would be a huuuuge over reaction over some moron's opinion. (to the mods, i didn't call anyone specific a moron ) by hiding away a visual feedback, you added an annoyance. I love the total number of units already in the army change though. that was my only gripe with the shogun 2 army ui, I couldn't tell how many units I have in it until I counted.

why the delay on unit info? I remember mousing over units and instantly get the info I need. now I have to freaking wait a good 10+ secs for a crappier version. add back the old version plz. that is unit feed back for the players.

that is all I can think of as of right now.

I am not saying everyone would agree with my opinion, but it would complete the game for me after CA fixes the optimizations problems.

streamlining is: do more with less clicks. I thought that was what CA was going for with the province system. why go through all that and divide the panels.

add generals age next to their picture when you want to replace or hire or anything relating to him

age is so important if you want to play a serious campaign of 100+ years. i replaced my crap general with one that was 36 yr/old. thats frustating.

If you want to now if you have a surplus of public order when PO is at 100 you have to do the math yourself. This is very annoying if you have to do that for lots of provinces. Especially since the information comes via a tool tip / pop up.
Officer to a soldier who refuses to fight: There three types of soldiers who don't have to fight. They are called KIA, MIA and POW and you are not one of them.

    Tosa will be missed.

all the pop up tool tips are annoying, that is why I ask for the info up front. this minimalist UI is super annoying.

I should be able to see a general's political faction every time I select them on the campaign map. Having to constantly look people up in the politics screen or vice versa is really stupid. Also, maybe a little marker or something to help me remember who my faction leader is? That would be really helpful.

Yes on everything! Dont know why the info panels cant be full screen, scrolling up and down for unit recruitment is stupid as hell and everything from army info, town info, research, recruitment, economy could and SHOULD pop up full screen without even the need to change what you were looking at the bottom of the screen.
Also make it possible to access a diplomacy screen with a faction by double-clicking their units or towns or whatever, learn a little from CIVs GUI where every icon takes you to a relevant menu etc. I understand these are all minor annoyances but after a while they become more and more tiresome.

You can make a game as complicated as youd like as long as you make a GUI that makes sense and is enjoyable to use, you dont streamline game features and hope people now wont tire of your game you streamline the user interface so everything is nicely placed and obvious.

    Yup.

I made a post about the same and more issues. Shoguns UI is just far far better at displaying info.
