Ok, you get the point
Three cheers to CA, lets hope it's as good as it sounds.

SO AWESOME. SO AWESOME.
Problem: I won't be able to play this game. Anyone want to donate a computer?

That sounds good but I wouldn't get too excited yet. We'll see how it actually works during more complex scenarios - for example if the AI has to face stronger missile units or artillery, or if there's reinforcements coming to their flanks, etc.
Awesome read.
CA seems to deliver this time.
Making the CA aussie team do this TW seems like a wise choice.
EDIT - My bad, lol.
Good read, thanks for the link

Damn, he says things are still going to be implemented over the next few weeks which means no Demo for a while yet. Still, the magic words here are slow and controlled, so a return to the good old days of STW could be upon us.
No it doesn't.Originally Posted by TenkiSoratoti

Hey, are you guys seeing what I'm seeing?

I hope I'm not getting over enthousiastic or overestimating this however =/
Edit: What does he mean by
STW is the only TW I haven't played. Can anyone translate this segment for us uncultured TW amateursAs a little teaser I must mention unit sizes! For those that have played TW since STW you will know what the magic numbers are and should be really be happy to see them make a return in M2TW.![]()

It would've been even more interesting if he had given a generalistic description of how the AI generally 'works'
In what way do you mean? I think they did it pretty well by giving a good example of a tactic that the AI is now using (the skirmishing when it has a lot of ranged units).Originally Posted by DavidtheDuke
I think the only way to show the new AI is by giving examples like these.
Personally, I can add the example I encountered while playing the demo (which you've all probably read in the other thread), where the cavalry veered off right before my pikemen. It may have been a fluke, but reading this, I think it's just one of the many changes the AI is programmed for.
As in he would've spoken more about why for example how it would know when to use a reserve unit in relation to technical bearings, aka how exactly does the AI use the scripts?Originally Posted by Soulflame

1. CA has rivals that would also love to know how they made the AI better
2. Most people who are the target audience of this blog don't care HOW it is better, and in depth discussion of the scripting and programming would only bore them. (I'm one of these people)

I have played since Shogun and I am not sure what he means, perphaps it's that people feel that the unit sizes in STW were ideally balanced?
unit size in STW was same for all units. It was 160, I think.
Was there any advantage to that ?? :hmmm:Originally Posted by JANOSIK007
It has been ages since I played STW so I can't remember anything special about that.
