    Default Chariots?

I'm not a historian, but I was under the impression that the time frame of Rome 2 had nations using chariots quite frequently. Egypt, the nation that is famous for its depiction of chariots only has one chariot unit, the Scythed Chariot, and its a unique Chariot design that was not the norm. Where are the Egyptian Chariot Archers that are famous? One man driving one man shooting.

The British nation has a Chariot too, and I'm aware they also had chariots but I feel it would be fitting for Egypt to have at least one more than that British considering they were famous for using war chariots.

I don't even like the chariots in the game. I could be wrong, but I zoomed in one time while a big battle and the chariots were fighting close up with no real animation happening, yet people were dying? Maybe the horses were hitting the men?

I think they arent in the game because they didnt manage to finish them. The trailer shows Chariot Archers that, please correct me if Im wrong, exist no where in the game, for any faction.

I am surprised no one has insulted you yet

I might be wrong, but i think those chariots are not included because they would not be historically accuracte given the timeframe in which the game takes place.

In any case, -and judging by the little I've seen- there seems to be a generalized lack of unit variety throughtout most factions.

I'm surprised no on has either!! I asked a friend and he told me how Egypt during roman times wasn't actually Ancient Egypt but more Greek. I knew it had Greek influence but I wasn't aware to what extreme. If its Ahistorical for chariots to exist than by all means ignore me : D

Those chariots are no longer used in this time period, they are from the bronze age, around 1400- 1100 BC. Only scythed chariots remained, and with a reduced scale and success.

Iceni and the Britons in general got them. Their General unit can be a chariot rider 'n Company.

Well the only chariots that are still around are the Iceni ones and those suck pretty hard.

I always love it when historical accuracy leads to less fun units being around. After all it's not like it's a game.

Archer Chariots in general had nearly died out by Roman times pretty much everywhere, some chariots remain in Celtic cultures such as some Briton factions and possibly some in Gaul as well, while specialized scythed chariots were used as a special tactical weapon at times primarily by Persian influenced nations such as Selucid / Pontus and possibly Egypt.

Generally speaking, it is interesting how Chariots were a big thing in both the Ancient Near East and in China while both also died out towards the same period.

But soon conflict will engulf the entire region with great consequences and lasting effects for centuries to come, not just for this region, but the entire known world, when one man, one people, unites.....
