I agree with Steel Faith, that Greek Champion model is perfect for the Myrmidons. I will really like to see Corinthian style helmets, there are many Spartan mods that use Corinthian helmets without any crests, maybe those would work?

hmm nice idea... i did some db modding but somehow they´re not selectable in custom battle yet. although i made them available...what could be missing?

has anyone an idea how to give hem only BLACK helmet crests?

and they're not overpowered. i sent 2 (2x 160) of them plus a hoplite general into battle against 5 pontian axemen, 5 pontian swordsmen and 2 units of potian bowmen.

all in all 1800 vs 480
i inflicted 1100 casualties on the pontians, but almost all of my men died, except for a dozen or so. so they're weaker than praetorians.

Sounds awesome, can't wait to test. Maybe try out gray, white, and black crests on the helmets? Still keeping to the color scheme but adding a little more variety.

im fine with grey white and black, but theres still some red. does it matter?

they're using kopis and straight short swords now plus 3 javelins. any other sword type i should add?
furthermore they wear all crests now at the following helmet types:
attic
pyrgian
corinthian crest
corinthian huge black-white striped crest (too big?)
thracian

also managed to beat the praetorians, but only 81 of them remained. i'll limit them to 3-4 units.

my main focus at the moment is to give them all dark shields. therefore i'll test some combinations of hellenic shield types.

im not satisfied with the outcome yet....

but i would like your help finding appropriate equipment, as i dont know all units yet. f.e. i never fought in iberia, arabia, the near east, india or africa.
if you know a unit that wears an armour part matching the descriptions below, please tell me the exact unit name.
this allows me to take this part off the named unit and put it on the myrmidons.

heres the list of things i'd need:

#black armour (preferably leather with dark tunic beneath; dark linothorax or bronce is ok too)
#corinthian bronce helmet with metal or black comb.
OR any other black or dark hellenic (or hellenic looking) helmet
# black or dark grey/brown shields

NOTE: campaign champion agents CAN NOT be used. i tested and they turned out totally ed up.

ALSO the myrmidons wont totally look like in the movie troy. they're just and inspiration.
as the illias only tells us that they wore black armour and shields we could use every black or dark hellenic piece of armour

my advise:
- the crest in the other side and all black
- keep them black and use metalic color to have some diversities (not red or orange)
- make the black darker

and i'm sorry but i cant change anything of what you mentioned

1- noby is able to change models yet
2- red and orange are the faction colours (macedon in this case) and i have no idea how to remove this
3- the black armour is chainmail and the helmet is just iron. the unit is built of the darkest vanilla unit parts i found

but it wouldnt really be necessary, cuz the idea is that this unit was recalled to life to honour the heir of Achilleus and his companions.

Those can be set in the unit_variant_colours table, there are already entries in there for Sacred Band and Praetorians.
