Whats with all the "Rome total war 2 pre alpha" UI?
I've seen a few commenting about a change in UI, yet I have yet to find any screenshots or any differences for myself.
Now, this isn't a "compliant" thread, but with certain users mentioning an apparent change they don't link any screenshots/pics to indicate the differences.
I've done some searching but couldn't find any pre alpha UI, could anyone lead me in the right direction if possible or explain?
I'm just interested to see what they're on about, I rather like the current UI however at times it can get in the way during battles (as it can overlap with the unit cards using the pop up options). However, I rather enjoy the campaign map UI, most noteworthy the Provence layout. It's simple to use once you understand how it works.
Many thanks!

This is what I thought it would have looked like, and it appears it was an early (and good) placeholder for the Carthage Siege

Re: Whats with all the "Rome total war 2 pre alpha" UI?
Ah! Thank you, nice find by the way in the video.
The difference isn't imminence, or so in my opinion.
I think I would have found the symbol in the center (e.g. like Napoleon: Total War navel UI) a little bit "in the way", but then again it nicely separated the controls...
I'm glad that the unit cards are above the commands in the release version, I don't know why exactly, maybe because it's above the commands and just easier to notice at a glance.
One thing I do miss however is the "Loose formations", as supposedly seen in the video; maybe it'll get patched in along with other fixes... It doesn't seem like a Total War title without it.
Edit: Since seeing the whole pre-UI instead of a mock up version (slow loading times)... I kinda have to agree now, it looks a lot better and even the style fits well too.
Who knows, maybe with all of these upcoming patches and I wouldn't exactly call them "complaints", maybe we'll see this version again.
