Get the cheaper one.
One is the 7950GT and one is the 7950GX2, the GX2 is almost twice as fast, but its also almost twice as expeisive. I agree with Lee, you should get the cheaper one, its already more than enough.

thanksfound this. http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2833&p=6 cheaper card better in SLI.
Yeah, and if I'm correct, all that extra power is usually bottle necked by the CPU or somthing infact making it slower.
Yeah and SLI will make those high end card prices drop because no one will buy them, everyone will SLI the cheap ones.

That's simply not true. Putting cheap video cards in an SLI setup is a pure waste of money. Look at the SLI benchmarks:Originally Posted by AlfonsoVIII

Depending on what game, application, and hardware they are testing you will see a vast variety of results. However notice that extremely rarely is performance actually doubled. Most of the time you're looking a decent increase in frame rate but not enough to justify the cost of a second video card and the SLI motherboard. I know having 2 video cards sounds really cool just like duel wielding pistols. However, what both these examples have in common is that they are only for show. 1 powerful $300 video card will beat the pants off two $150 cards in SLI. A man wielding 2 pistols fires twice as many bullets but none of them are nearly as likely to hit their target as a man wielding a single pistol.
The only way I would recommend SLI is if either:
1. You already spent the extra $$$ on an SLI motherboard, you have an SLI capable video card, and you'd like to get a little more graphics power in your system by purchasing a nother identical video card.
---------------- O R --------------------
2. You simply must have the latest and greatest, not even the most expensive card on the market will quench your thirst. In that case run two of them in SLI and see if you can tell the difference between 120 FPS and 180 FPS.![]()
