Default So any tutorial regarding food requirements and squalor?

The way the game handles squalor and food requirements is ridiculous! It is very hard to upgrade your city.

I've been using mods for squalor and food requirements for a while. And i really don't see that much of a difference. Some buildings produce way too little food, other buildings still produce a lot of squalor.

I've been checking on the building_effects_junction table and although i somewhat understand what give what.

I don't seem to be getting any bonuses even if i change the values.

Can someone give us a tutorial to how to mod and what exactly to mod to get more food and less squalor please

Well... you don't really need a mod for that. Change them with PFM like I did. I have already made a personal mod that reduces squalor and food requirements somewhat.

I agree with this whole squalor thing being ridiculous. I find it odd that my government buildings get bigger (thus, more powerful and influential in the city), yet I have much less control of the city/province's inhabitants. Completely dumb. Anyhoo, modifying this is simple, with PFM. Just pop open data_rome2.pack, locate building_effects_junction in the db. Then, find the building you want to change, let's say "pro_ROMAN_city_major_4" (The last tier of Roman province capital size, hence major_4, if it was a non-capital it would be minor_4), then find the effect that you want to change. Here, it is "rom_building_public_order_attitude_squalor", then go to the right and change the value (will be negative) in the "value" column to how much happiness is taken away (or, recieved, which is how I have my government buildings) from the province. Then, change the value in the "value_damaged", and you are good to go.
By the way, the PFM is located right here http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...me-2-supported, in case you weren't sure where to find it.

This is exactly what i was looking to change the values to my own taste, but i was wondering, is there any way to do it ... fast? without having to check every single entry from the building_effects_junctions table? thanks a lot in advance Kyle!!!

That is the fastest way to do it (to my knowledge), unfortunately. Until someone (smarter than me) creates some program that can just allow you to select different options for squalor, food, etc.

I changed them using excel. Took me the best part of an hour to change all the squalor and food requirements for buildings though.
