Excellent M2TW and Shogun II pics, am saving thoseYou pretty much nailed it with the contrast to R2TW.

A lot of it's the shaders, in regards to those S2, Med II, and RII pics.

You can see the ugly face issue in the Benchmark test, actually, when you first see the Roman infantry walking down the road. Sure, it's only an issue in game if you hit the N key and the image doesn't retexture, and who has time for zooming these days, but it's surprising CA couldn't do more to fix an issue that's so obvious and is new to this release.
Mhz1000a what clan is that in the SII pics with the beautiful yellow armor?
That is just silly, Rome 2 looks way better, but that is to be expected. But med2 with mods still looks amazing, the engine is surprising in terms how much stuff you can put in to the battlefield/units.

Here's the truth. You people compare a game just release for a week with 3 gold release, the last 1 was release 4 year ago and I believe have gold version about 1 year ago. This is CA fault for not complete Rome 2 before release ( Empire memory). And on top of that, 2 game are heavily modded.
With a little tweak R2 can produce this on an average computer(mine)Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
And of course I play Rome,M2TW and S2 VANILLA too.
I failed to find the edit button sorry for a DP, if a mod could fix this would be great
but for the 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 most of the setting are on max.
Here is a vid of Shogun 2 in 2560x1440 with 4xSSAA. You can especially see that there is a minimum of flickering on all the trees and other small detail model. You can also see that even units which are far away actually look like soldiers instead of the ugly appearance in Rome 2.
Note:
1) You might to reload a few times until u get the proper quality (in Chrome you can even choose Original HD resolution in 1440p)
2) The frame skipping and occasional strange replay speed is because of the non-optimized recording method used. In-game, especially without addition realtime recording/compression everything is very smooth (2x7970 with framerate limited to 40FPS).
3) The flickering sun/sky in the beginning and the brief small black spots in the background during the middle of the sequence are because of S2 graphics engine bugs which were never fixed by CA
The question i have is , if the old medieval engine made so beautiful graphics possible why on earth do they keep rising the game requirements to such rediculous levels ? FFS not all of us can or are willing to pay for a new pc![]()
How does this game run on AMD CPUs? Is it stil crappy like the previous TW Titles? Single threading( Intel) vs lot of weak threads ( AMD) ..
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.
