Where do I start?
Hey guys, so I want to start modding some aspects of the game, but don`t know exactly where to start! I downloaded the Pack Manages, but can`t save the changes I did. So do you guys know any tutorial, or wiki on how to start modding? My main objective now is to mod the legacy names, and then proceed to unit modding, but for know I just want to know how to edit a pack, and save a new one. Thanks for the help!

The community self-help and open source tutorials are embarrassingly underdeveloped considering the tools have remanded philosophically unchanged since ETW.Even the released tools have no readme.txt Translating Latin was easier for the medieval monks.

Re: Where do I start?
I just got a mod working myself, although I cheated by altering another mod's .pack file since I couldn't get my own .pack to work in-game.
From what I've gathered by going through forum threads the steps are:
1) Open the Rome 2 data .pack with PFM (data_rome2.pack seems to have everything)
2) Extract the tables you want to another directory (Files -> Extract)
3) Create a new .pack for your mod (File -> My Mods -> New)
4) Add the tables you extracted before to this new .pack file (Files -> Add -> Directory)
5) MODify time! Do whatever changes you want to the tables
6) Change pack type to 'Movie' (File -> Change Pack Type)
7) Save your mod's .pack and move it to the Rome 2 data folder
