Thread: Rome II Mod Questions & Recommendations

Anyways I want a mod that gives way more graphics options, such as completely removing color desaturation, overylaying color filters, bloom lighting, or anything else that makes the game look less realistic. Rome 1 had none of these dreadful things and despite the low polygons and textures, got things right. Just for example. this is what a sunny day in Tunis, a city near where Carthage was, looks like. Note the blue sky and actual colours on things: http://i.imgur.com/LzMlENl.jpg An evening or morning shot: http://i.imgur.com/uy2lCKB.jpg This is what Rome 2 thinks a sunny Carthaginian day looks like: http://i.imgur.com/cCeVU5I.jpg CA may just be trying to keep up with the zeitgeist of the times, where game designers forget the sky is blue, grass is green, and the world is not a blurry mess with smog that makes Beijing look like a national park

Any mods out there that get rid of formation attack? After reading this thread i would like to test out the differences.

A campaign mod based on Bernard Cornwell's "The Winter King." It's truly my favorite book of all time.

    Default Mod question...

I am curious if mods disable achievements?
Swear filters are for sites run by immature children.

Any mods that get rid of the battle map fog of war? Drives me mad to be honest I see the logic of it, but especially when units just appear in front of me on flat desert, or horses going around with no riders it just breaks the use of it. I want it gone

    Thanks..

I'm a player who seeks primarily functionality and battle realism from the mods.

I highly recommend the following combination of mods:

    1. Silven Total Improvement Mod - The best overhaul, you definitely want this http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...chy-Formations
    2. Radious AI Mod - You want this to make the CAI more aggressive and more creative with its unit recruitment http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...hlight=radious
    3. Radious Graphics Mod - Removes unnecessary/ugly smoke puffs http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...s-Graphics-Mod

For the battles that I have been having in the increased numbers and army amounts one problem comes to point is 40 units are only allowed in one battle anyway. Is there a way to remove the restriction of units getting onto the field after previous units have been wiped out? I recall this being the norm for previous TW games but for some reason Rome II doesn't have it.

Hello there Ishan and people. Is there a food mode released? Like a mode that has only help for AI factions and gives them more food. Not a mode that increases their likelihood of building food buildings, but just a released mode that gives them food, like a mode that gives a faction more money like a king's purse, but this time not money but food? Its like a mode that gives them +10 or +20 food per turn cos currently lots of armies are starving to death so i need a mode that fixes it. thanks.

    Default The best mods

Hello, I came here 2 days ago searching for mods for R2 and I can't deal with all these various choices.

Does anyone have a must have list? Like most people (I think), I'm looking for something that makes the gameplay feel.. not so broken if you know what I mean. Yes, I understand that vanilla is still in the tweak phase.. or beta de facto. Obviously, the things I'm prioritizing are longer battles, a more realistic feel that includes both graphical and gameplay elements. It seems like formations are broken, I just want a good playing experience.

I've spent at least a couple days going through the released mods and I'm overwhelmed! This is a perfect example of how too much choice is bad. I would like to defer to the consensus of the mod fans here to at least narrow down the choices to a limited few.

    Thanks to any who reply.

Close combat mode or Lines of Battle mode (i use the latter). You can manouvre in both and use tactics. If you use Larger Unit Sizes mod, battles can become epic affairs.

I think so , ralistic heights is only cosmetic , the other one alters mechanics, so if u want to play also multiplayer , only realistic heights woudl allow you to .

Hi, could there be a skin list mod which All skins can be confirmed as to be able to be used with each other. ie per Empire. Rome= all skins mods for this faction. Sparta= all skins mods for this faction. etc. Then you could even place mods that are for these factions only ie Roman archer mod in the Rome file. This would be a lot easier for when choosing mods per faction updates. Mods that are game related ie, 4tpy mod or 1 turn build mod could be placed in GAME MODS. Then at least any mods that are been updated, changed reviewed etc can be tracked better. IMHO. So My question is list of skins for ROME lol. please.

I am surprised there is no Radious mod suggestion here. Isnt it good enough? I liked it (when I played Rome 2 yet)
Very good rocking song. The message of the song: WHEN PEOPLE LEARN TRUTH ABOUT UKRAINIAN WAR, THEY WILL GO INSANE!! (I suggest to turn the english subtitles on. Its over 18only because of violent pictures) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AAR6nUV7VI

I do not use so I do not know , but since it alters stats of game it make multiplayer incompatible , and despite I dislikethe CA unbalanced stats , I think is too early for modifying them as patches over patches might make those mods not working.

I use Radious all in one mod and he does update it regularly. I'd also recommend. ..All factions playable, the one that makes settlement battles into field battles (I use the 75% version),removal of magic abilities, some of the mod tweaks for Carthage,2 turns per year or more plus others I've added but can't think of right now. You need to get used to the Mod Manager and EditSF 1.0.7. which is available on this site somewhere (google it). I also have a lot of faction retexture mods which could cause crashes but I save regularly. BTW how do you make paragraphs on this site now ? Usual method doesn't work for me.

On the release day , as well as continuing to i think the 6th september,
there were threads on the Mod threads forum,
announcing the intent of one, maybe even two of the three major Rome 1 mod's authors,
(Roma surrectum , Rome Total Realism , and Europa Barbarorum)
to come together with a few new modders and make a Rome 2 version of their mod.
