Default Unit Size Multiplier, can it be done or is it hard coded?

Does anybody know how to manually change the unit size per card? I saw on some member's game where they had 320 men per card while I only have 160 and it is already on ultra settings.

The latest pack file manager had its schema updated to include main_units, in which you can manually edit the unit sizes (number of men per unit) as well as number of ships in transport mode and number of men per ship.

The Campaign unit multiplier in the prefences.txt has indeed been removed. After a textscan of both the .exe, and the .dll the code no longer exists. However, the PFM is slowly taking shape

Just got done modifying unit spacing, weight/mass of the soldiers, and movement speed. Battles are getting better!

Yes the dbs in data_rome has something much better than the multiplier. You can edit the actual numbers in a unit instead of changing them with multipliers

i think the problem with this is the ships, ships can only hold so many troops.

You can also edit the number of troops per ship and number of ships per unit in Transport mode
Above I edited the men in a Legionary Cohort to 350 (originally 160). Then in transport mode, I edited to 2 ships per unit (originally 1 transport ship per unit), which each ship holds maximum of 200 men. So its 2 ships with 400 men total capacity carrying 350 legionnaries.

How does the game handle the massive increase in unit sizes?

Depends on the hardware (CPU clocking, available threads and RAM). The use of threads has been said not to be optimal at the moment. My subjective impression is that 2x unit size battles over savegame run fine. Turn change seems to improve by going windows mode but that should be unrelated to unit size as such.
