Hello everyone. I've been a long time lurker here at TWCenter and have greatly appreciated a lot of mods for the TW games. I've decided to sign up and make a post as this recent game needs a lot of help and there can't be too many constructive posts on how the game can be fixed.

I see there's a ton of complaints around that the AI never attacks, runs away instead of defending, battles lasting mere seconds, etc. To me, it looks like all of these things are caused or worsened (in the case of short battle times) by the fact that the AI never really creates units that can actually fight a battle. All they produce are skirmishers and levies, and only rarely will you see an Oathsworn or ballista in an army. And never more than one or two of these for a semi-large faction. This, I believe, is caused by the AI ruining it's own economy and not being able to afford decent units. Therefore I think that an overhaul of the balance of the campaign itself can do a lot of good.

As I am unsure of how far CA is willing to go for Rome (II), I thought it best to post this here as well as it may well come down to the modders to take care of this. I originally posted this on the TW forums here: http://forums.totalwar.com/showthrea...g-the-campaign
