What is the difference between a zero/one turn campaign and where is the choice made? I cannot find it.

It is made in the launcher. If you love battles, then 0-turn is probably up your alley. I myself have a wife and two young kids. I'm lucky to get a few years worth of turns and a couple battles any given week. So I myself prefer 1-turn, but debates have raged in this forum for years. It's like Pepsi vs. Coke, Ford vs. Chevy, tastes great vs. less filling.
Where in the Launcher is it? I cannot find it and it is driving me nuts. I have RS 2.6 and Launcher 1.3.3

Ahhh. I FOUND it. It is in the country selection menu. What an odd place.

Near the top left there's a button to select the faction you want to play. When you click that you will see a number of tabs: zero turn with all the factions, one turn with a choice of Rome or other, swap factions, then custom battles.
All one turn campaigns other than Rome are played through the generic other, but since last release we've added some scripting to create alternative buildings that are placed at the start of the campaign and these create a much greater challenge for the player.
I now prefer one turn and so have donea lot of work on these to make them work well.
Alternative buildings, eh. Care to elaborate? I hadn't seen that feature listed anywhere, but may have just missed it somehow.
I have noticed a difference in my Armenian campaign in 2.6 vs. 2.5. I'm not sure how I would describe it yet. It seems a little more difficult for my wheels to get traction. I'm not raking in the money like I was in version 2.5. Overall it feels more smooth and polished...balanced?
I also had my first run-in with Seleucid elephants. Like an idiot I didn't keep any Azat Infantry and their pointy little javelins handy. So I had to settle for harassing the elephants with a couple cata archers when they decided to sneak attack my capital. I did a constant harassment and picked off the elephant archers, but obviously couldn't take out the elephants themselves. It lead to a stalemate and after whittling down the rest of their army the elephants retreated. I'm sure I'll see them again.
Whatever has been done definitely has improved the play of 1-turn even more.
Alternative buildings really means that there are two different treasuries for each faction - one is for the player and one for the AI. They are put in place in the capitals at the start of the game depending on which faction the player is playing and will give different economic and experience bonuses. This was listed in the new features.
Is Syracuse available in one turn for 2.6?
'However long the night, the dawn will break'
It is, but that's only for zero turn
