    Quite pretty, but the idea that the byzantines had no or little access to gunpower is preposterous. Its more that by the time anyone had access to them, it was too late for such guns to make any difference for them. There are accounts of the Byzantines using cannons (large and small, aka BIG and handheld etc) at the Siege of Constantinople, only the walls they were mounted on, built centuries earlier, were damaged simply by the shock of their firing...

    Well they have access to the bombard cannon for this game so at least they have something.

    WOW! I am so playing Byzantium first. Even before any of the Muslim factions. I just love the unique mix of East and West. They are the true heir of the Roman Empire and its going to be fun to recreate Rome again, perhaps they will even have a general called Belisarius with 20 stars. And above all: VARANGIANS!


    EDIT: Never mind about Belisarius, 500 years too late.
