Should i wait for next week patch?

So i know the patch today fixed some bugs but it was not what the people wanted, wich is to fix the performance and the bad AI (2 most needed fixes), so do you guys think i should wait till next week or i can start playing now, rome was my favorite total war and i do not wana play and get pissed cuz of bad performance (i have a good pc) or bad AI, so maybe its best if i see what the 2nd patch will bring or start now?

Yes, wait for the patch next week, I am fully confident that in five days they will be able to develop and test a challenging AI. And they will improve performance too, at least 10 FPS more wouldn't hurt.

I decided not to play any campaign during the next few months because I want to have a good experience with this game. Right now Rome II is almost unplayable but I think the game has a lot of potential. Perhaps in the future Rome II will become the game we were all waiting for.
Right now I'm entertained with the prologue (I decided to attack Magna Graecia just for fun

) and sometimes I play historical and custom battles (it's a shame that Rome II only has four historical battles

). Oh, and I also made a mini mod

They are not, and I repeat, not going to alter the AI in the next week. Ain't happing. 1) it isn't a easy to do quickly 2) the first set of fixes will be focused on the technical issues, graphics, driver compatibility etc. The later will be the priority.

People are living a pipe dream if they think the AI will be altered in any significant way in the weeks ahead.

Maybe in a months time. Most fixes might be technical issues still, and maybe one big decision like removal of capture points, or something like that.

Pray and try your luck in a few months.

It will take time for the game to leaves its alpha/beta stage to finally reach gold level and being playable.

Game is playable and fun. Every problem posted on this forum is blown out of proportion. If you like tw games and have a positive attitude you will have fun now. I haven't had any tech issues and I have a mid ranged 3 year old machine and playing on very high settings. The AI makes the campaign pretty easy but the scope of the game is huge and there are a lot of cool new features like amphibious assaults recruitment and army stance that while in need of some fixes are still cool. Sure there's a lot of room for improvement but if you have it why not see for yourself?

The problems of this game could maybe be excused if it was the first game of its kind, as it would be a huge task to create a game like this in one development cycle. The problem is that this isn't the case, and not only does this game not improve upon the previous games in the series but this is actually a huge step backwards. For those of us that have played and supported this series since the beginning, this game is a huge disappointment.

Nah, I'll wait till CA gets past the technical MUST-PATCHES and gets to the CONTENT MUST-PATCHES: Feature Overhaul and Balancing.

As it stands right now, I can't even bring myself to finish my Parthia game because Slingers are OP and I refuse to use the UP Horse Archers. Until the slingers and archers/horse archers are balanced, I refuse to play the game.

i would rather see the state of the game evolve over time through patches than wait months without playing (because i do enjoy this game) for a huge patch.

point is: if YOU enjoy the game (you and not someone else) then play the game and see how the patches change things.

I enjoy the game for what it is, flaws and all, and will keep playing. As the patches come along, they'll improve what the game's lacking right now, but graphical and performance tweaks are what I'd prefer in the coming weeks.
