I am trying to install kingdoms from the disk but I get an error that tells me to update to windows 98/2000. I did not have this problem when installing MTW2 from the disk. Any ideas?

The only thing I could suggest is
Log in as Administrator, disable the UAC, run the disc as "Run as Administrator"

You might want to check this link out http://www.dummies.com/how-to/conten...windows-8.html . Try to run in windows xp (or lower) compatibility mode. Give it a try.

Get rid of 8 and install 7 or wait for 9.
