Any chance of a video showcasing this mod?
All this mod does for me is crashing the game after Carthage turn during the wait sequence. Does anyone have a similar problem with it? I would love to be able to use this mod since it appears to fix some of the most tedious parts about the vanilla game. What I do is that I download the file and then extract it to the data folder in Rome 2 (E:\Documents\Spel\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War Rome II\data). Perhaps I'm doing something wrong seeing as I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to mods. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hmm, seems that my problem with the crashing is still there after I've removed the mod.
A video because it was requested, showing the difference between the Vanilla combat and the Close Combat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBVVxidztHc

@Luntik
In case you don't have the schema for the units spacings yet:
<table table_name='unit_spacings_tables'

<field name='close_formation_spacing_variation' type='float' />
<field name='close_formation_spacing_vertical' type='float' />
<field name='dismounted_close_formation_spacing_horizontal' type='float' />
<field name='dismounted_close_formation_spacing_variation' type='float' />
<field name='dismounted_close_formation_spacing_vertical' type='float' />
<field name='dismounted_loose_formation_spacing_horizontal' type='float' />
<field name='dismounted_loose_formation_spacing_variation' type='float' />
<field name='dismounted_loose_formation_spacing_vertical' type='float' />
<field name='horde' type='boolean' />
<field name='key' type='string_ascii' />
<field name='loose_formation_spacing_horizontal' type='float' />

Well, tomorrow will be a fix of the phalanx. Good night.
How does this work with coop campaigns? Do both players need it? Can an ongoing multi campaign use it or does a new one need to be started?
Apologies if this has been asked already, but tough to navigate with almost 5 mins page load times right now..
Guys. Did anyone watch the video in the OP? Because I did! And you know what? With this mod, not only do the animations look better, the overall thing looks like the epic melee CA intended!!!!!
VERY NICE JOB SIR!

Good God, Luntik... This mod has revolutionized my game, and that is no understatement! By this, yes I mean the great additions to the battle and Units actually use their formations and stay in them, battle lines look like battle lines. But, my performance on the Battle Map has been completely changed. Before I could barely play on Low setting now I can play with no issues with High-Extreme.
Now, someone reading this may ask: "Well, how does that work? This mod doesn't change graphics/fps/performance etc!". Yes, however me and a friend deduced that this mod stops the individual unit/soldier collusion that was such an issue also in Empire: Total War and is in this game. Basically, what we think happens with the vanilla game and goes someway in explaining performance issues, is that the individual soldiers constantly collide with each other and the game, along with your hardware/software doesn't no how to process or deal with, or at least does and is struggling to do so. This mod stops this.
In all honesty, you need to bring this to CA's attention of what I've experienced. Yes, you'll have to take my word for it: I'm not lying, this is an actual (although, probably, side affect) affect of your mod.
Thank you.

will this work with the Radious mod? D:
Mod looks amazing !! Dling now thats for sure!! I got a question though (for anyone reading), will this mod work with the Radious Battle Mod since id love to have that morale system with this aswell, even if that doesnt work I can use that unit reduction mod im assuming to counter it been uncompatible with Radious' Mod (if it is), but then again would this mod be compatible with the unit reduction mod? Really loving all this work been done by the modders to fix this great (but at the same time disappointing) game ! Thumbs up to every modder putting in the time and effort to complete this game for CA ! Cheers Lutnik for fixxing the annoying blobs and unorganised rabble that comes with charges and combat in this game. Keep the mods coming !
@Everyone. Never mind bout my question, read 1 up from my post and seen it is compatible
