RTW - please insert correct CD

Hi All,

I've just re-installed RTW onto my laptop and am getting the error - please insert correct disc. I've bought the gold edition, so have BI and Alexander, both of which work. I'm running Windows 7.

I've looked at various articles/discussions etc and ensured that I installed it as administrator.

The odd thing is that BI and Alex both work, it's just RTW that doesn't. It works happily on another laptop, which is running Windows 8.

Any help, would be very much appreciated.

That almost sounds like a Safedisc or Securom (copy protection, anti-piracy) issue, or that you are running a not quite kosher copy of RTW. How long have you had the disc media and where did it come from. Amazon, retail box store?

Definitely a kosher disc. It was bought from Game a number of years ago and I've played it without any problems in the past. As mentioned it works on my Windows 8 machine, but not on my Windows 7 machine. Barbarian Invasion and Alexander both work on my Windows 7 machine, it's just that Rome itself doesn't.
