    Default Balance question

I play this mod exclusivley. After a layoff, I started a new campaign with Dacia VH/VH. I'm still in the 260ish era. All is well as it can be. I have 4 or 5 provinces and I'm at war with those cockroach like Romans.

I'm wondering why the Dacian Falxman, Heavy Spears and Chosen Swordsman are 160 man strong(on huge). Can these troops hold up against the Roman Legions, the inevitable German onslaught as well as Macedon's elite troops at their current numbers? I always thought that overwhelming numbers were the barbarians main advantage.

Would raising these numbers to 240 per unit for all barbarian nations be a little more appropriate? (Not including the elite units, cavalry or archers.) I figure as a weak nation like Dacia to become dominant, they would need numbers on there side. It's not like Dacia has Bull Warriors or Beserkers...

    Any feedback would be great

The unit stats for those units are worked out for them having 80(i play on large) men in them, if you gave them 120 men per unit, they would become horribly unbalanced. Try it out and see for yourself.

you can even modify the export_descr_unit.txt to suit your need, adding or removing the number of soldiers, consider that the value that represent the number of soldier is placed at string (example for roman legionaries):

    soldier roman_legionary_cohort_i, 40, 0, 1.3

40 is the number to edit (the value is with the normal size units, it will be multiplied x 2 for big and x 4 for huge) so if you want a bigger or lesser number of soldiers change it (remember that a unit cap exist, I don't remind what it is for soldiers, but for exemple for generals unit the maximum is 30 (becoming 60 with big and 120 for huge)

I checked it out in custom battles and Dacian troops held up alot better than I thought they would. Lusted you were right. Gotta love the Falxman!

I'm pinned between The Romans, Macedon and Germania. It's gonna be tough fighting all three of them at once, but I have no choice. The become protectorate for 10000 bucks from the Romans bug sure is helping.
