Pro:
new agent systhem
diplomacy structure by wich i mean the new negotiation options, but at the moment its terribly unbalanced
Cons:
complete lack of emmersion, i do not feel like im really in control of a faction,dynasty/general,i feel a complete lack of connection to my generals and familymembers wich for me was the best thing about the game.Who else remembers generals from years ago wich you really connected with and had epic adventures/conquests with? Now generals are just bland faceless placefillers. Theres no real connection with your faction to it feels to me like the campaign map is transformed from an emmersive world to just a superficial, bland attempt to somehow give meaning to the batlles but in reality it feels like you just picked a colour with some different units and just take city recover and endless repeat.
No familytree
unbalanced diplomacy
average graphics ( i run everything on highest settings and it looks mediocer)
politic systhem is completly redundant, by the lack of a familytree it seems disconnected from your generals, familymembers and lacks real influance
For me the basic gamestructure of rome I added with new graphics, new diplomatic/agent systhem, naval battles, revamped campaign map would have been perfect. CA has ripped out the backbone of the series by simplifying and dumbing down its core( and its not like romeI,medievalII had a steap learning curve to begin with). for me the emmersive feeling of the campaign map of previous titles was what gave the battles meaning, now it just seems pointless and arcady. the current campaign gameplay is just a shell to loosly tie the battles together compared to rome I and the work mods like Roma Surrectum II,RTR 7 and EB have produced.
Games like medieval II and rome I i played since realease and still do, i have Rome II 2 days and i already am reluctand to play it wich my 6 campaigns with different factions all maybe max 20 turns in prove.
So basicly my point is that the total lack of emmersion and bonding with your characters, armies and faction and the dumbing down the core of the game ( the campaign map play) to draw in all the little kids has crippled my favorite game series.
