Default Rome 2 Legendary Difficulty, Autosaving and Crashing

So I went on to make a legendary campaign but while playing it , I got crashed, the save game got corrupted and now I get a black screen when loading that save.

Is there anyway to bypass this system and atleast make it a rolling 3 autosave or something? Lucky me I was still in the beggining but imagine if I had 80 turns going.

You can minimize or drop out of the game then copy and paste the save somewhere every certain number of turns, maybe to a folder on your desktop. Inconvenient but it's better then losing a huge amount of turns to a corrupted save game.

How likely is this to happen? I'm 153 turns into a legendary campaign... and i'd rather not lose all that progress.
