Does anyone know how the new HP system works? I've seen ppl elude to knowing how it works in several other threads without actually explaining it. I've looked through 13 pages of drivel without finding an answer. If anyone knows, plz share.

I've also been curious as to some of the statements floating around about that.
I really want to hear a definite answer on this too but there is already a thread for this topic. You know that since you bumped it 6 minutes before you posted this thread
If you fire for example at hoplites with slingers, the first 2 or 3 volleys won't do much, but after that the casualties start to increase with each volley.
looks like Shields have some sort of HP system, so first few volleys are stopped by them. Anyway once shield is "destroyed" they go directly agaisn't unit armor values and cause kill.. (this is just my assumption)
What could help is to make shields last more, in the end, few rocks thrown at it wont destroy it. Also normal javelins shouldn't have that effect, only heavy precursor javelins like Pillum or Soliferrum should have that effect..
Health is the amount of HP that each man has.
Melee Attack is the raw attack of each man, this has less effectiveness the more Armor, Melee defence and if the enemy has a shield.
Weapon Damage passes through Armor, but i think that it doesnt nullify it.
Charge is the initial damage that a man deals to the enemy + Weapon Damage + Melee Attack, this gets decreased by a big amount of the enemy has a good shield rating(if you attack from the back or the rear the shield doesnt work, this is why flank attacks are so good) and armor gets a smaller role.
Shield Protects a man from the front.
Armor is from all sides.
Health gets decreased each time a man attacks another and this depends on all of the above factors.
Men attack what is in front of them, while charge does the same, it doesnt affect the whole unit, men attack and charge at each other.
At least thats how i understand it, i may be wrong.

Probably it works like in older games. Wouldnt make much sense to reduce it by every hit.. But to tell more accurately, we need to get PFM first to do some testing.
