As the title depicts, this is the crash message(Standard for most Windows program crashes too, including browsers)...It can happen at any time, any place, anywhere, doing anything...
It has so far happened 7 times...out of 8 play sessions
1: Played for ~1 hour no issues..
2: Was in the prologue, it gave it to me while my army was marching towards the walls of Capua.
3: Was in the prologue again, this time the moment my army reached the village.
4: Was in the New campaign, playing Sparta as per the new Greek pack you got for pre-purchase on Steam. On the Campaign map, in the middle of a Turn transition between factions.
5: Was laying siege to Athenai or whatever the city next to Sparta is on the Campaign map. Had just moved my ladder units towards the city, played with the playthrough speed some, then it crashed.
6: Was in the Campaign map, using a scout to try and assassinate an enemy general
7: Was switching resolutions from 1920x1080 to the 1240x??? one. Mid loadscreen crash.
I have tried everything, from setting graphics to lowest, to running in a window, to not touching graphics AT ALL during a playthrough...So far none have succeeded, except one...Which was my 3rd actual playing attempt. I had over 50 min of successful Campaign gameplay, then got ambushed by an enemy faction and played successfully through a ~15 min long battlefield fight my 1440 spartans vs. 2100 greeks + reinforcements...Managed a close defeat and had a memorial of an epic battle erected on the spot in my army's honor...Then I decided to go to sleep, not wanting to test the integrity I had just witnessed.
NO IDEA what the differences are that I'm doing...I am at a complete loss there...But I have seen evidence that it CAN work...Any ideas?

It happens completely randomly for me. Sometimes in the main menu, sometimes during agent actions. I haven't been able to finish the prologue, because I was at Chapter 3, after doing the Chapter 2 siege battle multiple times, ending with crashes. But then when I restarted Rome 2 after the siege-battle was succesfully resolved, my Prologue progress was gone, and I couldn't bother to restart it again.
Just wanted to let you know that I've been having frequent crashes too, similar to these. Then again, sometimes it runs fine for 2-3 hrs.|
