This is brilliant. I'll happily play with only 20 units, if they're on 2x multiplier.
So the ships essentially seems to behave just like fleets did in Shogun 2, if you put 2 ships in a fleet they also had that common line between them.

Works a treat well done everybody!
Shame my garrisons, starting units and mercs are not doubled but it's a step in the right direction. The game is great if a little underwhelming in battle-scale, now it's huge in every aspect.
Thanks again.
@Shiao- Type %Appdata% data into your location bar and they're under The Creative Assembly. You just have to make sure you see the stuff you changed turn red on the SFeditor before it will save. Try changing the line and then clicking on other lines in the file to make it realize you've changed something. When you see it turn red it will save your changes when you click save. Otherwise it won't actually save. It will create a new file and everything, but the changes won't be in it.
Where can I download the SF editor?
My bad, I forgot to mention a few things in my original post, once I can edit my OP, I'll add them in.
1) Link to the SFEditor, TWC page http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...-Block-Entries
2) Location of Rome 2 Save files are Computer> WIN7(C)> Users>YourComputerName>AppData>Roaming> The Creative Assembly>Rome2>save_games
I sont find this SFEditor 1.0.7 anywhere.
I have followed the instructions but it doesn't work for me. When I recruit new units, they show up and are recruited at 160 men/unit, be it from a new campaign at 2tpy, 4 tpy or a recent campaign (turn 6). I have tried "read only" ticked and not ticked. Could someone please explain more in depth all the steps they have done, in case I did a mistake ? The 2 or 4 turns per year actually works.
It works the game seems to be other,tks-
Just played 2 siege battles. Both times garrisons 2x unit size. It seems once you get a few turns in everything is doubled. The mercs and garrisons are single sized at the start but become double in a few turns. I'm about 20 turns in and everything is double sized now.
Same here. Played about 50 turns with a unit multiplier of 3.1 and 40 units. Fist turn units are vanilla sizes but a couple turn in everything is multiplied. Even city garrisons. Tried a battle with about 40,000 units total(20,000 vs 20,000) and it ran decently. A little laggy but it was definitely playable.

Does anybody know how we can do this for customs?
Hi
This his doesn't seem to work for me, the second number on my campaign_setup_options is 0.75 and when I change it to 2 and save it , when i open it again it has reverted back to 0.75. Could any one help me out because I reall want to get this working.
Thanks for any help.
A possible alternative approach?
I could not try it for not having the game but what if we changed the numbers in main_units.xml wouldn't this have a similar effect?
I think we could even double the ship crews which would avoid the double-ship trick. The file has max and min numbers for ships and land units, e.g. 160. If one replaced the numbers (160 with 320, 80 with 160, etc.) by text editor "crlt f", and if it worked it would be a second workaround. Though, it is not the hidden or not yet found "general multiplier for units" which might be at a place of code outside of the db files that were made accesible.
Just an idea and it might be complete nonsense.

I tried to let more turns go by but nothing has changed, new units recruited show at 160 and the old ones stay at 160 too.
Any help from someone who made it work please ? This is an important feature that impeaches me from starting a new campaign as I want REAL epic battles and not small skirmishes
For those who say it dont work, change from one to two, click in other line, you will see the changed line turn into red, just then you save.
Are you loading the save file you edited? Are you sure it saved in the ESF editor? Load it back up with ESF and make sure the second line says 2. It's pretty straight forward.
Not sure what you intend by "loading the save file" as it is located in the campaign folder of the game.
I am sure that it the ESF editor did save it, I checked by loading it back up just like you said and the second line did say 2.
I am editing the startpos with the changes to have 2 turns per year/4 turns per year that is located in the data --> main_campaign (or something like that, can't remember exactly) file of the game.
I know it's pretty straight forward and that's even more frustrating that it doesn't work for me![]()
Is it possible to place a numer 1.8 for example and have around 300 soldiers ?
