    Default I'm having a blast!

So much HATE on this forum, yet I find this game insanely fun! Despite bad optimization and quick battles I know for one thing either CA will fix this, I hope. Patch on Friday which I welcome with an open heart aswell, which hopefully will solve a lot of things that spreads this hatred around the forums.

But hey, I would have understood you guys if games never could be patched, but since they can, let's wait for patches to see if things go the way we want it to?

Every game at launch (well most of them) have few issues, but they are fixed quickly at least.

As the title says, I'm having a blast with this game, playing as Sparta and civil war has erupted in my empire and currently winning that one, so many things with this game I love, and I cannot wait more for the patches to fix things, as I have faith in their game, and their developers.

Peace and love! Remember to report bugs and other issues to CA so that we may get this game the most perfect TW game to date, and not abuse them.

Oh well, back to fight my civil war! For Sparta!

Yea I'm starting to enjoy my campaign a lot, I've started to get public order under control and am now fielding 3 legions and struggling to hold onto Italia whilst trying yo capture Corsica/sicily, being attacked by soo many faction, Sparta and athens coordinated attacks on south Italy, my client state ally fought to the death for me in Illyria, the diplomacy and ai is really intense, except no one is accepting my trade agreements haha, overall really challenging I just wish the politics system had more substance to it
    Ps I'm playing on legendary

    I Agree 100%!

I am also puzzled why people have so many issues with the game, graphics, performance etc. I get a stable 60fps even zoomed in and my card MSI GTX770 OC is not what is called the top end. I have 2 cards in SLI and my only gripe is that the game does not yet support SLI like Shogun 2. In saying that the game still looks bloody terrific. As to people complaining about the speed of battles. I found that early but now and ill highlight my last fight....I am playing a spartan campaign. I had one province left to take to unify Greece the siege took over 30 minutes! The AI, yes in some instances performs poorly but in others like that siege, hide troops and try to flank. The AI reinforces the line, the AI try to make me split my force and the best bit. The AI mass a charge to the center of my line ( oh so I thought ) The AI actually did a feint! It massed what I thought was most of there troops to my center but then bang i had double the number press me on my left flank. Was a massive intense fight and i was lucky to win.

Cool! I've had an interesting match against one of the opposing Spartan faction during the Civil war, Phalanx vs Phalanx was interesting, they even started out with better units than mine, yet I pulled it off and won the battle, making the civil war 1 less army on the battlefield!

It is truly very fun and I feel pitty for those who would rather complain about the tolerable bugs (that will most likely be fixed soon anyway) rather than playing the game.
It's still only 238 B.C in my Rome campaign and I'm already conflicted over which faction to play as next. Probably Macedon, Egypt, Arverni or Suebi, maybe even Sparta or Iceni. THERE ARE TOO MANY FACTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM!!!

Yep, I'm loving it too. May have made a mistake playing a campaign on Normal though. Even the most important cities of the AI are pretty much undefended. I'm only on turn twenty-one but I feel like I've been playing forever, which I consider to be a good thing.

I do like the game I am having fun I just wish this next patch really fixes optimization issues I actually like new province system too you don't have to garrison so many troops in each individual town anymore.

The game has some flaws but it's always like that, the community always goes insane the first weeks and then everything turns to normal. I also noticed the Campaign AI isn't that retarded. I was playing Egypt and fought the surrounding small factions when Seleucids attacked Cyprus ( my vassal ) I obviously joined them and the vassals of Seleucids also joined, so it was like 9vs2. Shortly after Pergamon offered a Non-aggression pact, I accepted. Cyprus had a hard time defending Side but mentioned to hold until I aided him, suddenly Pergamon joins war against Seleucids and offers me a alliance. 20 Rounds after Pergamon mentioned to wipe out all of Asia Minor ( Todays turkey ) except for Cypriot settlements and marched to Seleucid capital and captured it. Meanwhile Libya freed itself from being a vassal and captured Carthage and giving me hard times with a lot of units ( well I mentioned to kill an army of 7000 with 2000 men but that's just the battle AI ).

Other game, I'm Suebi and try to unite all Germanic tribes under my banner while someone mysteriously destroyed Athens, Epirus and Sparta. Later he captured Knossos and destroyed some of the surround small factions. I don't know who it is as I didn't discover them yet but It really frightened me. Also when I tried to defeat the Goths I marched there set a camp and waited for them to attack as they clearly had more soldiers then me. They did, I defeated them and waited a turn to take the city when suddenly the Lugians came, took the city, declared war on me for spying on them and being actually friendly with some of his enemies and besieges Lupfurdum, luckily I had a second army down in, don't know the name of the province but it's basically todays Czechia. Now I'm only missing Kimbri to complete Suebi province, already got Silesia province, Czech province thing and the Cheruskii accepted my offer to join me. Soon there will be united Germania.

Still don't know what to think about that Campaign AI though because sometimes they also just act as retarded as it gets.

    @MepMep

At least, Rome 2 AI has some rare moments of brilliance.

In my Parthia game, I swear that my "ally" Dahae are subverting me at every turn. Any province I'm trying to conquer from neighbors, they make sure to get at least one region from there, so then I can't issue edicts. It's really frustrating.

It'd be easiest to just DoW them, but then I get a hit in diplomacy. Yet, it goes away from a while. I'm seriously considering this. I conquered most of the East, including Bactria, Aria, Arachosia, and Massagetae. I still do not have my Parthia core province, only Nisa and Susia. I kept waiting for Parthava to revolt against Seleucids like the advsior said. However, they NEVER did. Instead, I conquered most of the East, until finally Medians came rolling from the hills and took over most Persian lands and more importantly, they took over Parthava. So now, I can freely attack them and make Parthia core province all finally PARTHIAN lol. Interestingly, Medians are not a satrapy/vassals of Seleucids. I guess I'll expand there. I've been avoiding a war with the Seleucids. Not until, I weaken their satrapies first.

Overall, I have plenty of things that I love already about Rome 2. At the same time, some design features could be revamped to be easier to use. A limit on generals is fine, it's been there since ETW, but a limit on armies is not. Why can't I have armies WITHOUT any generals, and then after a battle, have a general be adopted in the family, like in MED2TW? Everything is just too centralized for my liking. Also, regions should have more attack pathway options.

On plus side, I like how Agents have a lot of different uses. However, I've been using most of mine for improving province happiness.

I actually like the fact your army needs a General now, I mean no army ever marched without someone leading them, can't tell about the Parthian regions but Germania is really open and wide, there is like 4 ways into my main province.

Oh well I built a Shieldmaiden because they told me I should do and wondered what she's good for so I walked up to an enemy General and challenged him to a honorful duel till death and my Shield maiden actually killed him, that really made me like those characters even more, Spies are really a lot more useful then just spying. In Shogun I barely used any Agents and in NTW just to spy around and M2TW to open city gates, that's it.

    LOL nice omzdog

You can add me to the list of enjoying the game. It is a great TW title, not the best mind you, but it's still one of the better ones in my opinion. I can understand being upset if your having problems getting the game to work, hell I'd be agitated too, but coming to a forum and beating your chest like some enraged animal, only to troll in every thread is a bit much. I just think that people had set their expectations way to high and are now greatly disappointed.

I am having a wonderful time with my friend on a multiplayer campaign.

So far, I have to say the diplomacy is one of my favorite aspects. It is so much more complex and useful in this game compared to others. Also, I thought I would hate the province system but I am falling in love with it.

I don't understand how anyone with more than 4 braincells can enjoy the LA riot battles in this game . The campaign is OK but city management is overtly simplified. I built a small empire in less than 40 turns and I pretty much own the Balkans/Eastern Europe. The Diplomacy...well The AI still has that "Hive Mind" in that they refuse to make deals even mutually beneficial deals with the player because it's the player. However after a while you will find that the factions that won't allow you to make a trade agreement will eventually ask you to make a trade agreement...IDK I guess these guys hate trade agreements unless they make the propositions.
Bactrians will be Big 8. "Farther East" means Bactria.
After the Iceni reveal expect the unexpected.
