I do indeed. Although at the moment, weather effects utterly kill my performance, so I haven't really seen it outside of the benchmark thing. But it's annoying there, too.
The above post is in a pre-alpha state and does not nessecarily reflect the final writings of the poster. As such the poster cannot be held responsible for any statements made in this post.
no, that s one of the sweet little details i actually like :3
It distracts you from the zombie units, the blob battles, the turbo animations, theAI, the inconsistent graphics, the pisspoor frame rate, the floating shadows, the magically appearing trees, the glowing power ups, the pitch black textures, the tiny troop numbers, the freezing sieges, the blocky movements, the static enemy, the rampant idiotic dialogue....
I can keep going?
OPEN BATTLEFIELD CAPTURE POINTS AND IMPACT PUFFS HAVE GOT TO GO!

Just a mess of a 'game'
I think its the final straw that flipped me off after dealing with incessant crashes, game freezing & piss poor graphical textures & Frame rate and my pc which is a good machine arrrrghhhh
It's pretty annoying, like the blood splashes in Shogun 2.
I dislike it too so I turned off 'Distortion Effects' in the graphics settings. Although this removes all other distortion effects such at heat haze. Turning it off increases the frame rate though!
I saw, I bought, I played
It's about as wooden as Woody the Stick Man, walking through a forest with little wooden clogs on.
You did not prove anything other than the fact that you can't even formulate an argument. You are not interested in helping the game improve, you just want to thrash it as much as possible and look for things to complain. There are issues and I am not happy with the state of the game, but it has potential to be the best TW yet once the problems have been sorted out. Ignoring the positives and focusing only on the negatives is extremely narrow-minded and a frequent habit for people who are not capable of critical thinking.
@OP, go to your graphics options and disable the "distortion effects" option.
So if you switched of distortion effects it removes it must try it hmmm.,
Absolute bollocks - I can't begin to postulate as to how long it will take CA to sort out this mess and neither can you. It's intrinsically, conceptually and mechanically an horrendous game. These aren't minor flaws that can be ironed out. This is total carnage.
I love Total War games, but I'm not accepting this tripe. CA deserve to take a hell of a lot of heat for this. They have gotten very little right here after months of media storms. They have fabricated battles entirely and produced something that looks a million miles away from the alleged pre alpha stuff that was supposed to only. Be scratching the surface.
I genuinely want them to turn this around. I do. And I hey your point. But the likelihood of this being salvaged is slim to nonexistent.
Again you fail to bring up anything specific. Let me do that for you. Here is what is holding the game back:
1. Poor optimization
2. Bad AI
3. Battle speed and unit/army cohesion (this is based on PERSONAL preference but I am just including it for the sake of argument)
4. Missing features such as Guard Mode and Loose Formation
5. Bugs
Your definitions on the other hand are extremely broad, over-exaggerated and just ignore completely the positive aspects of the game. Not really sure how much you have played, but still... To label this game "the worst of the series", or to say it is worse than Rome 1 is just ignorant.
Yeah I also turned off the distortion effects.
If I was just watching the battles I would like it, but it makes it harder for me to see what's going on so I got rid of it.
Also I think anyone flipping their lid about it like ^ up there might need to be informed that this can be turned off.

Hate the water droplets. Don't want to lose heat haze, though, which is a great effect. Water droplets on the imaginary camera lens should be toggleable. Better yet, make it go away -- scrub the hard disks, erase the tapes.
And all those faults are okay when you've thrown millions at development over years and then decided to just release it anyway, knowing full well your game is a million miles from a functioning product?
Their blatant disregard is ignorant here.

I am not saying what they did was right. But on the other hand - what's been done is done. We can not change it. Having aattitude is not an answer either. We, as players, have 2 choices right now. To shelve the game until patches fix the issue... Or to participate in the process by giving constructive feedback and make the best out of the situation.
One thing is for sure - slamming your fists on the table like a child does is no way to go about it and it does not help anyone. The majority of ragers need a serious reality check. Make your voice be heard the proper way - like adults.
For me its always been annoying in all games. Certainly should be (and probably is) a preferences option or game option for this.
