    Default Seriously, guys?

It feels ridiculous for me to say this, but...I know emotions are running high for everyone right now on day 2 of Rome II's release, but it is truly a shameful thing to attack the developers behind the game on a personal level. Hate the game, hate CA, say you'll never buy another CA game again, whatever. But attacking the men and women behind it is truly a shameful thing, not to mention how you all treat each other.

Anyway, I never thought to ever consider the possibility of the TW gaming community of having "entitled gamers" but times do certainly change. Nowadays it's less rare for game developers to be treated this way. Some even had death threats! Thankfully it hasn't gotten this far.http://www.polygon.com/2013/7/24/455...weapon-changeshttp://metro.co.uk/2013/08/16/biowar...amily-3925970/

Also, MODS. Is something wonky going on with TWcenter server?

Maybe you will realize how moronic most of your posts are when you grow up some day and your whole life does not revolve around a video game and it meeting your expectations. Now off you go to Metacritic, to write your "objective" 0/10 reviews, while spouting nonsense on the forums at the same time. You are so predictable it makes me laugh.

People who give the game an unreasonable score like 10/10 or 0/10 (like you), are the CANCER of this community. Praising the game to be perfect or condemning it to be the worst of the series is moronic, childish, unproductive and insulting to anyone with an IQ over 75. Such blind rage is unreasonable and you are not helping anyone. All you want to do is enforce your own deluded opinion while you bash to the ground everything that differs from it. Learn how to be a productive forum member by submitting feedback to the appropriate threads, rather than barking all over the place.

And before you jump to the predictable fanboy accusations, I am not happy with the current state of the game, but I also know what the difference between constructive criticism and running your mouth is. Rather than whining like my life depended on it (like in your case), I choose to specify what needs to be addressed.

    Everything clear, dear?

Still doesn't give you the right to threaten people and to be abusive

There are some obvious problems with the game, that will hopefully be addressed by CA and the modding community. The problem here is that several members on TWC have this almighty entitlement and think that CA is working for them personally like a butler or something...if you do not like the game, go ahead and complain, valid and constructive criticism can only make things better, but useless whining and nagging and threats will achieve nothing.

Also, do not blame CA if your PC is a piece of that can't run the game...you want a game with amazing graphics and details and animations, but also to run on really outdated machines...come on!

Threatening the developers and their families personally is uncalled for and unacceptable, and regardless of how anyone personally feels about the game, we should all be able to join together in denouncing the scum who thought death threats and threats of violence was acceptable. I, personally, plan to confront anyone I see threatening them or standing up for the immature trash.

Like this guy right here. I don't know, or care, what part of the world you live in, or what kind of individual you are, but you're out of line stevehoos. You're standing up for scum bags that have threatened a man over a video game. I don't care if you don't like it, I don't care if you do, and I certainly don't give two what those who threatened Craig think of the game. It's unacceptable, and your passive aggressive "well, look at how she was dressed, she was asking for it" is insulting, disgusting, and degrading to the integrity of this community and the human race as a whole. You should be ashamed of yourself.

A video game is never a reason to threaten physical harm on an individual. You don't like the game? Go ask for a refund, or if you're -that- upset and you feel so thoroughly wronged, file suit for false advertisement, but anyone who threatens the dev because they're not satisfied with a video game does not belong in any community of gamers, and the same goes for the people who stand up for them.

So that makes it alright for grumpy fans to make threats to devs? gg

Exactly. You reap what you sow Craig.

Really, i get more than enough deceitful corporative talk already from Spanish politicians at the daily newscast.

What you guys have done is to use deceitful advertisement strategies to sell a product you knew was flawed. Now don't ask respect from those people you have tricked into buying the game.

I'm of course not defending personal abuse, all but the contrary, but i do think that, at this moment, no one at CA has the right to demand anything.

    btw:

False advertising, in the most blatant of contexts, is illegal in most countries. However, advertisers still find ways to deceive consumers in ways that are legal, or technically illegal but unenforceable.

I get the rage on the forums but that is a step to far. Sadly no-one can really stop it. We just have to hope it does not tarnish their own opinion on the community as a whole (which is easy to do if you get enough flak).

If the results I produced in my job turned out like this game, I'd be fired. Enough said, let the blame lay where it belongs.

On one hand you have people attacking developers publicly - on the other hand you have a product which is clearly not ready for release. Welcome to the dark side of Hype - expectations and entitlement.

CA (or SEGA - Take your pick) have been hyping the game so badly, that any consumer is going to expect a game that works out of the box with only minor issues at the most. Extreme graphic settings issues and an AI that is... fragile at best are not minor issues.

*This still doesn't excuse the behavior seen on forums and twitter of course*

Internet tough guys be all scary and stuff. As problematic as the launch was, is it really worth it to threaten to beat the crap out of someone over the internet?

Its still kinda incredible how bad they messed up Rome 2. Wasn't their anyone on the development team that said:- These turn waiting times are unbearable!- The campaign / battle AI offers no challenge at all!- Why dont we add family trees / a meaningful faction system?- The performance sucks guys, we cant release it like this?

I based my expectations on how Shogun 2 played, which was a big step forward in my opinion. With RTW2 they've just thrown out everything that made that game good and replaced it with crap. Graphics, AI, features,
gameplay in general. Everything is just worse. How they've managed to do this is beyond my comprehension. I think a little CA bashing is in order, as long as it isn't mean spirited.

I doesn't matter how "messed up" this game is. These people are employees working on a product. Its their job to work on the game and not their obligation to meet your every needs. Gamers these days are so entitled.

I don’t have the game because I expected it to be a mess and generally people should not be abused but there was a deliberate attempt by CA and its employees to deceive people I have no doubt about that so sometimes they do deserve to be taken to task.

For months people have being requesting proper game play videos basic stuff nothing remarkable but instead we got two Bozos playing with a toy Ballista, so the next time just take it that CA and their sycophants tend to not tell you the whole truth.

And just in passing where are all the plonkers who played these battles at the gaming conventions and thought it was just brilliant would not mind hearing some of their opinions on the game.

Very well put together post here not that it really matters.

They're making a game to fit to what we want so we'll buy it! Their very jobs depends on our satisfaction! Talk about entitled gamers, but what I'm starting to hear is more along the lines of the captured consumer with stockholm syndrome. You don't exist to please them, they exist to please you.

As far as the threats go, yeah that's pretty over the line. On the other hand, guess this shows just how crazy the fanbase can be when you with them.

The week-1 TWC response has been about the same for every Total War game since the site launched. The site's still flourishing, so I guess CA is doing something right.

While i agree that attacking someone on personal level in this case is ridiculous , but Craig himself is not without a blame , he personally lied to us all about ROME 2.Every single one of CA/SEGA employees lied to us.
IF your job is to lie , be prepared to reap the consequences of YOUR LIES.
I may come as over-reactive and i am overreacting , but you get the general picture.
