I just upgraded to Windows 8.1 and the crashes alot with GEM, I uninstalled GEM for few minutes and no crashes. anyways, here are some screenshots using different settings.
here are some more
In love with the new version.
the game seems to crash at startup only when I change GEM settings from realistic to truecolor and cinematic, idk if it has to do with windows 8.1
also noticed that I am forced to use Shader 3.0 regardless if I put a 1 or 0 on GEM settings
most of all Use Gem 3.0 defaut

i have used the gauss blur
i set the GaussStrength on 0.37
I'm so jealous you seem to not have any aliasing and I have a lot,I have very strong edges and neither gaussian blur or sharpen edges seem to do anything so I swithched them off.
I have everything max out though,so annoying...
at #2449 's pics are default GEM 3.0
at #2550's are some tweaks
here is the tweaks setting files
GEM_settings.txt
SweetFX_settings.txt

Since i updated to win 8.1 i am forced to use shader3.0 :o
are there any fixes for this? :<
I really like this mod's color tone, I'm using 2.3 without problems but when I try to install 3.0, game doesn't work, it just crashes me to desktop at the start.
If this does not happen without GEM it means your default GPU is one that cannot use a better shader. You can adjust the GPU picked manually in the preferences.script.txt of Rome 2.
What does the log.log say. There is not such difference between there versions that would cause that..

Thank you for all your nice comments good that you like this version!
Hi, thx for your reply
but i already tried different gpus in the gpu_select (both 1 and 2)
gfx_gpu_select 0; # gfx_gpu , Select gpu on a multi-gpu config, 0 = default, 1 = first gpu, 2 = second gpu #
Some people have a similar problem often because of integrated cards and playing this game on a notebook. You can read about it when you search in google.
Somehow you have to define the right card as default in your system.
If you cannot fix this there is always the option to set USE_SHADER3VERSION in the GEM_settings.txt to 1 so it is compatible with dx9 and you can at least play it.
Unedited & GEM3.0& some tweaks
