CA just did a "Mass Effect 3"

Im not too familiar with marketing-laws, but isn't rome total war 2 a prime example of false marketing? I want my money back. There really should be laws protecting people from this sort of thing in the gaming industry. I mean, if I buy a vacuum cleaner, id be able to get my money back if it doesn't live up to certain expectations.

Interestingly if you buy a car and it malfunctions you can get refund but it seems that with video games you can't get jackshit and you are forced to use

as steam,drm and god knows what xbox one will use .

True, but still bad. Mass Effect 3 failed in many ways, even looking past the atrocious ending.

The problems with Mass Effect 3 were almost entirely plot-related due to massive plotholes, lack of plot, a lack of answers, broken promises regarding the effects of player-made choices, and an ending so lazy and so horrendously nonsensical that it caused what was probably the single largest community-based outcry in gaming history. That said, from a gameplay and graphics standpoint, there really was not much wrong with mass Effect 3, since it had almost identical gameplay to its predecessor, and its multiplayer delivered just about all it had promised to deliver. Rome 2's problem are gameplay and bug related.

Exactly my thought. Mass Effect wasn't a bad game. The gameplay was more or less what we expected and the game was finished and not in a late beta by release. The only one thing was a bad ending without the mechanics which were promised by Bioware. The situation with Rome 2 is much, much worse.

Go to youtube and search for: "Mass Effect 3: Bookends of Destruction Part 1"

I think there are 5 parts in total that all talk about how bad Mass Effect 3. In general. Not just the ending.

CA has not done a ME3 and this thread is bloody ridiculous. CA has made a great game with a couple problems and things I dont personally like but its still a great game.

I don't know what everyone was expecting. We got hints about the game from the previews, and knew that CA was being a bit tight lipped on info and gameplay footage. We also know that CA's strong suit is not AI, and that their games are almost universally a bit of a disappointment at release, then slowly get patched into a really great state.

Yeah, I have some issues too, but really I expected what we got. If you were smart too, you would've rolled your eyes at the CA apologists and kept yourself to realistic expectations.

Thinking you're going to take legal action against CA is almost criminally stupid though, and far too whiney - even for these circumstances.

When CA refused to release a Demo I pretty much knew they were hiding something and there would be problems. I just never imagined that they would foist this abomination upon us. There are so many problems that I fear the game is permanently broken since CA never changes what they think is a good design decision. Unfortunately Warscape will also prevent any mods that can fix what CA has wrought. I guess the series has finally moved out of my interest since CA continues to dumb down everything. I knew it was coming but thought Rome 2 would at least be somewhat enjoyable. This is such a disappointment.

You're right, OP, Rome Total War 2 is a beautiful game that surpasses its predecessors in almost every regard. But, it made a couple of slip-ups (bad battle AI for example) and this, of course, means that it's a terrible game that deserves a 5 or less as a userscore on Metacritic. Mass Effect 3 and Rome Total War 2's user scores are a monument to how silly a lot of people really are.
