Although historical accuracy would call for a decimation

Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
And because the game didn't meet your expectations, your life is now destroyed... anyway
Tweak the settings around, update drivers, uninstall that perversion called Norton and you should get some results.
With the new Beta Nvidia Drivers I play on Ultra Unit scale, high Unit details, medium shadows, medium textures, SSAO, High Depth of Field and everything else set to Ultra without lag...
On a Q6600, Core 2 Quad @ 3.0 Ghz, 6Gb 1066 Mhz DDR2 Ram, Geforce 560 Ti CU2 1Gb Ram
And apart from the Campaign lag which does not make the game unplayable, I find it verying entertaining. No crashes, some battles DO last me 30 min constant fighting and as far as I can tell the core Game is basically the same with different designations for buildings and stuff.
The new diplomacy is also very interesting and the Hoplites DO hold their formations, compared to celtic levies, which IMO is a rather accurate representation
So, there obviously can't be anything that wrong with the Game

From reading the forums over the past few days, I think what most people want aside from performance fixes are:
1. Slower battles.
2. Better Battle AI.
3. Guard mode.
4. Fire at will option for melee infantry armed with javelins/pila (so they do not have to charge in order to throw).
5. Better UI in general. It is too convoluted and the battle UI cards need to display better information (such as how many men are still alive - not just vague bars).
6. MORE economic and city micromanagement (Shogun 2 was fine, why change it?).
7. Larger unit scale.
8. Better multiplayer in all regards.
9. Better AI army composition.
10. Tweaked diplomacy (many people seem to have trouble securing trade agreements).
11. 'Loose' and 'tight' formation options (Now why this was removed? If it was because CA didn't want units fighting melee in loose formation, why not just auto-default back to tight formation upon entering melee?)
12. Implementation of the family tree.
13. More tool tips (what exactly do zeal, authority and cunning even effect?).
I'm sure I've forgotten to mention some issues. Hopefully CA now focus on what we as the customers want changed.
I saw, I bought, I played
Add a family tree!
Tks Craig too much for prompt respond for fans included me, I am very pleased to hear this news from CA, that's mean CA teams still stick with us for Rome 2
Please kindly fix:
_Graphics problems
-Reduce battle speed, they are very fast
-Balance units stat
_Fix Dip (i could not trade to another factions if I did not offer some golds to them, no money, no trade)
That's all for now, many tks![]()

Why do some foreign ambassadors look like scary monsters?
Any news whether the patch will do any of these things?

I dont care what anyone says about Rome 2. The game is good, and I really want to play it. But its a horrible buggy mess. CA lied and fooled me yet again. Fix it you idiots!
There shouldn't have to be a thousand patches for the game to work properly. It's called beta testing, game developers use it sometimes to iron out the bugs. We could call this version that we own now the beta and after 10 or so patches we can call the full release.
Let's sack CA settlement and let the modders take the lead)

This. I remember being excited for this series since I first saw previews for the original Shogun way back in 1999, and how excited I was when I finally had a machine that could actually run it several months after the game's release. Since then, I have played and loved every Total War game that's come out. If I'm pissed and disappointed it's because this is pretty much my favorite video game series out there, and I was expecting Rome 2 to be absolutely amazing.
My brother and I have had no issues in 11 hours Rome II except for one really, really devestatingly annoying one. Between turns 9 and 10 of my Macedonian main campaign, which I was looking forward to most, I experience a crash to desktop regardless of what I do. I did load it from the Cloud and am playing on a crappy computer right now (low-medium graphics with slight lag, 1664 mb Intel graphics card). I doubt either of those facts matter but i thought I'd list them anyway. I am enjoying the game immensely otherwise and I hope the issue is fixed by the time I get my new computer next week. This is certainly my most awaited Total War game yet, and it's killing me playing with (comparatively) terrible graphics for the first week.
Otherwise, thanks for the great game. I think there were some major steps forward with this release, despite some of the annoying, smaller flaws.
Rep me and I'll rep you back.![]()
