Lol what? They do no prevent player from "abusing" anything. Instead, they prevent him from using traditional military tactics (of taking higher ground) so that AI doesn't seem as stupid (which it is). Whole capture point thing should be at least optional. Seems like a game-breaking issue to me.
Did you do forced march? That's supposed to be hte only time you get them on open field battles, I still have yet to see one out side of siege battle or a supply train battle.
Good, now perhaps we can all behave like decent human beings.
A stretch, I know.
as much as its a shame for this company to release a patch this soon ... i'm felling better ....
Jeeeze!..a patch on Friday. Methinks I shall wait to install it just in case it's full of bugs!!...shall keep an eye on the forums to see the response and weather it's stable.
One patch every week ? I guess a lot of work have yet to be done ...
Can we hope to see a bunch of easily done new features or will you guys focus on balance and bug fix only ? Thanks for the reply.

"We are very pleased with the response"
Yeah, from all the bought 'professional' reviewers. Maybe you should take a look at what your gamers have to say.
Just fix game optimization so I can play the game right now I'm just autoresolving all large battles because my computer lags for w/e reason. All this talk of battle speed and unit sizes can be fixed by modders, game optimization cannot
good news
Released on Tuesday, patched on Friday! Well I guess this confirms all those who dismissed any criticism of previews by saying it was Pre Alpha.
Given that so many players have had difficulty playing the game on their computers, wouldn't the release of a demo have enabled some of these problems to have been revealed and a graphic fixes made before the game was actually released! But I suppose if it was known that was going to happen, there is a disincentive to do so, as such problems would have put folk off buying it. Essentially you could say that those that pre-ordered are Beta testers.
excellent corporate speak, kind of insulting treating us like idiots, hundreds of thousands... -_-. Would you kindly provide some useful information like why nvidia says no SLI is a game issue and why we can't use proper AA within the game. I really want to be one of the hundreds of thousands to.
Oh and please fix the Multiplayer Campaign for once, just please, I beg of you!It has been like this since ETW, with the game freezing at for example an AI faction, or when under siege by AI or as you go into an in-game battle as well as sometimes when you just finish it. It is extremely annoying not being able to play the campaign for more than 3-4 turns before it crashes. The sole reason why I bought Rome II was because I wanted to play the multiplayer campaign...
Your post is a very good news for a game that needs a tremendous amount of post launch support, thanks a lot. However, i do think that the sentence i quote is really not helping disappointed people to trust your words. I mean, after such a harsh feedback on several key forums and in several coutries, how can players believe you are not in PR damage control, which means a lot of blabla you don't mean ? Seriously, how could you be pleased at CA with the terrible feedback everyone can read everywhere, and why even pretend you're delighted with it ??I don't understand ...
Craig there is about a few hours work needed that would of fixed a lot of the messy combat and yet you guys have never did it once since Rome I.I find it hard to comprehend you wont take view points and tips from people and could transform combat in pretty much a single day.
Honestly get your coder or person who does battle balance or physics and tell him to:
lower unit mass/pushing power to around 1.0 on infantry and not much higher on cavalry so there is less pushing and less sliding feet and less blobbing and flying men!
Increase unit defence and moral stats by around 30%
Reduce unit speeds by at least 30%
And crucially increase this new value called cohesion or whatever it is that makes romans hold formation more.It needs to be increased vastly on phalanx units and roman legions.
Just wait until pack files are opened and modders put in these values and everyone will see some fantastic changes.

You know, this forum isn't the center of the universe, let alone the TW universe.
About 100 of my Steam friends have Rome II, and I've been asking them for their consensus on Rome II. A handful of them had performance issues (around 5 or 6), a few fixed their issues by turning of "Vegetative Alpha" or something, and turning shadows down. The rest have noticed some bugs, but that's normal with any video game and they're playing the hell out of Rome II.
What I'm getting at here is that yes, TWC is a minority. You may have issues, but it does not mean everyone else has to, or worse, if they disagree with your stance that RII is the worst game ever that they're payed by CA.
I'm on the whole enjoying Rome II far more than I ever did Shogun 2 (and that's my 2nd most played TW game).
