Politics
Hey guys, unlike most of the people on here I'm really enjoying the game only one or two minor things here and there that are kinda bugging me. But I have absolutely no idea how the internal politics system works, e.g. What influence or gravitas does and why I should have them. This is the one thing not really touched upon in the prologue and I'm hoping someone can explain it for me.
Thanks

Re: Politics
From what I gather your faction has elite aristocracy who are in a battle for power with 'those others'.
Your faction doesn't really have a head until later, but when a general assumes enough power you can give him promotions for rank ups.
Its pretty generally useless if your generals are infantry and are constantly dying on the battlefield either on the front lines or being pelted by slingers at the back.
No clue how the details of traits work out, but its not hard to assume that such things as gravitas are good and do good things.

Re: Politics
Thanks, though I still would like to know "exactly" what gravitas does?

Re: Politics
It's basically the weight (gravitas get it?) that your general has. How many influence they pull towards them.
You most likely have seen the 74% of tribal chiefs and such modifiers next to the Elder Chief tab right? That's basically what gravitas is, or at least what I could discern from it.
It is completely entirely pointless. It has NO use what so ever because most generals/chiefs get enlisted at like age 38 so in 12 turns they die. Then they get replaced. There is no actual family to speak of so it's best to ignore these things. Your generals will most likely all pick up the dishonest traits and end up with 0 gravitas anyway eventually.
