Default Main Menu the most GPU intensive part

consider this more of a bug report then anything else but on my comp(i5, 16GB, gtx660ti) the main menu seems to be the most GPU hungry part of the entire game.

Just sitting at the main menu reading through descriptions and whatnot my GPU goes to 72°(doesnt get any hotter then this even in Crysis 3).

On the strategic map temp. is around 60°, in battles(~15 units each) it goes to 65°.
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski".
You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude.
So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh,
His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not
    into the whole brevity thing.

thats not really the point. i dont need to get the temps down, they are well within the specs for the card.
point is that the bloody main menu seems to generate more load on the GPU then a battle does..

It's because you need v-sync on. The menu isn't intensive, it's just that you aren't limiting how often your card needs to re-draw so it's rendering the menu as fast as it can, possibly at hundreds or even thousands of FPS, heating your card up.

well I always recommend to activate v-Sync in the game and adaptive v-sync in the NVIDIA drivers generally. It does not cost much performance and is suitable for all rigs. If you do not have adaptive vsnyc in the NVIDIA control panel, look out for an driver update.

/irony: if the main menu is the most GPU intensive part you should be happy about it, because if your computer crashes there you know something is going wrong (defective, driver issue, too much overclocking) and far better than in the middle of a campaign or battle, isn't it?
