Strange Resource Exchanges
I am having quite a fun time Playing my Casse Campaign now. Large parts of coastal Gaul & parts of Coastal Iberia have fallen under my sway.
Usually when I start the early stages of my game. I go through all my settlement's trade info screen. The one that shows which resources are being traded between each settlement via land and water. Usually as my empire grows. I do this less and less as it would be extremely time consuming. I do this for somewhat educational purposes and also for some minor role playing issues.
Now When I recently went through my settlements again. I noticed an interesting resource being transported to my cities via water from my Carthage ally. Now I was sending out the usual stuff the Casse faction would send out from that part of Southern Coastal Iberia (The two settlements south of Toledo). Luxury goods, small vein minerals mounts etc. But what am I reciving from Carthage Africa? Wild Animals, Textiles, metals and what's this?....ELEPHANTS?!
Wow! I was a bit shocked by this and when I seen it my mind ran with all types of crazy EB fantasy. What is my empire doing with these beast importing them from Coastal Iberia? Keeping them in enclosed areas as spectacles of nature? Did zoos even exist at that time? Probably not. And even more crazily. What if my Casse soldiers were able to eventually learn to ride them...ultimatley bringing them into war?! Now that would be something...A bunch of Casse militants riding around on top elephants rampaging through Iberia and smashing Luso Armies left and right! Nice!!
So what's the purpose? Both game wise....and ....somewhat semifictional game play wise? Has anybody noticed this and or acted upon it by changing script to allow cultures completely void of elephants to exploit this? Is there a way that this can be done that isnt so complicated and also acurate with the resources being traded between cultures in certain regions?

Re: Strange Resource Exchanges
I've played the Casse before, and I approve of the desire for elephants.
